A Message From the Principal
Dear Academy Families and Friends,
It's a first long weekend of the school year! Happy Columbus/Indigenous People's Day weekend. It sure was a wet one, but rain is a good thing!
This past week, we celebrated our first R.O.A.R. Awards of the new school year. So many students were recognized for being leaders and R.O.A.R. models. Classroom 1Y earned the Jr. Golden Paw (top class in the K-2 group) and 3L earned the Golden Paw (top class in the 3-5 Grades).
We also had K and our second graders go on field trips. Both trips tied directly to what they were studying in their Wit and Wisdom lessons. They had great fall weather and really enjoyed these experiences. Speaking of great weather...running club is back for students in grades 3-5 and this Friday is our first "I walk to School" Day at Academy.
The Fun Run has broken through the 60% mark and with a little help from our families, we'll reach our goal. We got bit of work to do, but if we keep up on it, we'll need to get those pies ready! There's more info below to help us reach our goal.
Have a great rest of your weekend,
Mr. Patrick J. Higgins
Principal

Attendance Matters!
Attendance plays a big role in a student's learning & achievement in school. Being here every day is important. Check out our interactive daily attendance board...Grade 3 and Grade 4 are tied with 4 stars.
Thank you again for calling the hotline any time your child is out!!!
The Dream Catcher is almost here
The Dreamcatcher is back for its 33rd year on November 27, 2025! Register before October 8 using promo code whsathletics25 to save $5 on the registration fee.
Working with Safe Routes-Changes Ahead!
Effective October 20th, morning routines will change slightly. Doors will be open at 8:50AM and students will be able to walk directly into the school building, eliminating morning line ups outside of the doors 7, 10, and 19. This will allow students more time in the morning to get settled in. Also, we will be shifting the top lot parking lot time by 5 mins, closing at 8:55AM to help get cars unloaded and back out to the Avenue by 9AM. Flyers will be coming out this week as a reminder. There will not be any changes to the PM Top Lot Parking Procedures.
