Open House Thank you!
Thank you to everyone who was able to stop by our Open House last week. It was great to see everyone as they toured the building and met our staff. We hope it gave you a chance to check out what goes on in your students' classrooms each day.
Visiting School
In Queen Bee School District 16, safety is the number one priority. All school visitors must have a valid ID when coming to our building. You cannot enter the building for any reason without an ID.
While families provided an ID at registration, we still need an ID to enter the building.
Parking Reminders
-NEVER walk through the bus lane
-ALWAYS use the sidewalk when dropping off and picking up your student
-Do not park in the parking lot behind the playground
-Do not park in the strip mall next to the school. You will get towed! We cannot predict when this might happen, so beware!
Learning Genie
Every family should have access to Learning Genie, the schoolwide app that is used by all of our staff. If you do not have access to this already please check with your students teacher to get connected. Also, many important district communications will come through email. Please be sure that the office has the most up to date email on file.
STAR NET Family Resources
STAR NET is a valuable resource for us at the Early Childhood Center. They offer many resources for parents, including webinars like the ones listed below. We hope families can take advantage of everything they have to offer.
How to Handle More Than You Can Handle, October 1, 2026, 6:30-8 pm on Zoom

The early years of raising a child with a disability are often filled with anxiety, overwhelm, and fear of the future. In this workshop, Amanda Griffith-Atkins, LMFT and author of How to Handle More Than You Can Handle, helps caregivers explore realistic self-care, cope with difficult emotions, and find steadiness in an unpredictable journey. Participants will leave with practical tools and encouragement to support both themselves and their families.
Nurse Aliha's Corner
- I want to remind you all that the Smile Squad Dental Van will be at Queen Bee on September 21st to offer dental services for the students. If you have not yet filled out the consent form and sent it back to school, please do so by September 17th. If you need another form, I have English and Spanish forms available to send home so please do not hesitate to ask!
- Please also keep in mind that if you have not done so yet, please send physical exam forms and immunization records to school for health office records. The deadline to submit this information is October 15th. Failure to do so will lead to exclusion from school until the forms are received. Thank you, Nurse Aliha.
- It's always hard to decide if you should send a sick student to school. Here is a guide to help families when their student isn't feeling well at home.
