Student Absences

When your child is absent, there is no need to call the school. Please make sure you send a note with your student when he/she returns to school. Absence notes can be submitted electronically also by following this link:

https://www.berkeleycountyschools.org/o/bcs/page/absencenote

It is very important to submit a note or send a note for your student.

Also, when your child is absent, calls are made district-wide to let parents/guardians know. If you know that your child is home, you do not need to call the school. It is a courtesy call for families and mainly is applicable to older students, but is a district-wide system.

Library News

All library books will begin being collected the week of May 11th. There will be no more check-out beginning that week. Overdue notices will be sent home at that time. Please return the books or payment as soon as possible so we can keep our library current and up to date.

All students are encouraged to read over the summer. Students returning to Rosemont will be given a summer reading challenge. This will be sent home near the end of May. Please complete these activities over the summer months and return it to school in August for a special surprise.

A Few Reminders for the Close of the School Year

Testing - 3rd Grade WVGSA Testing will be on May 6 and 13. This will be for the final two components of the WVGSA. Please encourage your child to do his or best and ensure they get a good night's sleep. We know they are going to put forth their best effort as they complete their first standardized testing.

The final i-Ready Diagnostic Assessments are underway for all students (kindergarten - 3rd grade) and will wrap up by May 8th. Please again encourage your students to give their very best efforts. Our students have made great progress this year!

Medication
- Please make arrangements to pick up any medication that is at the school for your child, including inhalers or EpiPens from our school nurse, Mrs. Baker, by the last day of school for staff (May 29th). Medication cannot be sent home with your child and will be discarded if not picked up. Thank you!

Dress Code - Just a reminder... With spring in the air and the weather getting warmer, we ask parents and students to review the Berkeley County Schools Dress Code Policy found on the BCS website. Please wear appropriate (and comfortable) clothing. We discourage flip-flops and backless sandals because of safety issues.
