Thank you Team Sheffield!
As the final bell rings and our classrooms empty out, we want to take a moment to look back on what has been an absolutely incredible school year.
An achievement like this doesn't happen in a vacuum. It takes an entire village, and we are so incredibly fortunate to have the best one around. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this year so special:
To our amazing Students: Thank you for showing up every day with your curiosity, your energy, and your smiles. You pushed through challenges, celebrated victories, and reminded us daily why we love what we do. You are the heart of Sheffield!
To our dedicated Staff: Thank you for your tireless dedication, creativity, and passion. You don’t just teach; you inspire, support, and care for our students every single day. Your hard work behind the scenes never goes unnoticed.
To our wonderful Families: Thank you for your unwavering partnership. Whether you were helping with homework, volunteering for events, or simply cheering your children on from the sidelines, your support has been our backbone.
To the Sheffield Community: Thank you to our local businesses, neighbors, and partners who constantly step up to support our school. Your generosity helps us create a thriving environment for our youth.
"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." – Helen Keller
Together, we made this school year an unforgettable chapter. We are so proud of everything we have accomplished as a community.
Now, it’s time to rest, recharge, and make some wonderful memories. We wish all of our Sheffield families a safe, happy, and absolutely fabulous summer vacation. Read some great books, play some math games as a family, play outside, and enjoy the sunshine!
We already can't wait to see you all refreshed and ready to go for the next school year!
With deepest gratitude,
Kerry Heathwaite, Sheffield Elementary School Principal
Annual Kickball Tournament
What an incredible day for our school community! From mentorship on the field to a thrilling showdown under the sun, our students and staff showed out in a big way.
A massive shoutout to our older students! They teamed up with our Grade 2 students, stepping into leadership roles to coach, encourage, and help the younger kids successfully learn and play the game. Seeing our oldest and youngest students working together was a true display of school spirit and community. Way to lead by example, PRIDE!
The excitement reached a fever pitch during our highly anticipated Staff vs. Student Council kickball game. The energy was electric, and you could hear the cheers echoing throughout the entire neighborhood!
The staff seemed to have the game locked down, heading into the final inning with a commanding 6–1 lead. But "out of nowhere," the Student Council launched an absolutely legendary comeback rally! They kept everyone on the edge of their seats, scoring four quick runs to bring the game down to the wire.
It was a nail-biter of a finish, but the staff managed to hold on by the skin of their teeth to remain undefeated! Final Score: Staff: 6 | Students: 5
Huge congratulations to the Student Council for an unforgettable fight, and a massive thank you to everyone who came out to play, cheer, and support. Great job, everyone!
Kindness Dance Party!
Sheffield was buzzing with excitement as our incredible students participated in the Kindness BINGO Challenge Dance Party! During June, students were actively tracking their everyday acts of good citizenship—from helping a classmate to sharing words of encouragement—to fill up their BINGO cards. Once the challenge is successfully completed, everyone traded their cards for dancing shoes to celebrate our collective compassion with an epic, school-wide dance party hosted by the one and only DJ Henderson!

Sheffield's Summer Math & Reading Program!
As we head into break, it’s easy for students to "turn their brains off" and lose some of the incredible academic progress they made during the school year. This phenomenon is known as the "Summer Slide". Students in 3rd–5th grade lose an average of 20% of their reading gains and 27% of their math gains over the summer vacation. Surprisingly, only about 48% of parents have heard of this slide—but at Sheffield, we are working together to beat it!
To keep your learner motivated, we have some amazing rewards lined up for when they return their completed summer work:
The Reading Challenge: Students who read for at least 30 minutes a day for 36 days will receive a Book Vending Machine Coin!
The Math Challenge: Students who complete all of their Math Projects will receive an amazing Math Game!
Thank you for helping your child stay engaged. Let's work together to prevent the summer slide and keep our Sheffield PRIDE shining bright all summer long!
