MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

CHS COMMUNITY,

There is NOTHING like a home Chardon Football game. We are actively preparing to host our first home football game of the season. We’re thrilled to welcome our community, especially our young football players, for YOUTH NIGHT. It’s going to be a fantastic experience for them to run out onto the field with the varsity team!

To ensure a great atmosphere for everyone, we're reinforcing a few important guidelines this year. Please keep the following in mind:

  • No outside footballs will be allowed in the stadium. If a football is brought to the gate, it will need to be left there and picked up after the game.

  • After kickoff, all gates will be EXIT only. Once you leave the stadium, you will not be able to re-enter.

  • Students will not be permitted on the playground or the track during the game.

  • Youth football players will not be allowed on the field unless they have a specific job or duty assigned to them by a varsity football coach.

Important Reminders

To help with traffic flow and safety, please be aware of the following reminders:

  • All Athletes/After School Programs: When you return to school for after-school practice/meetings, do not park in the spots directly around the building. You must park in the student lot to avoid causing additional congestion during a high-traffic time.

  • Parking Passes: All cars parked in the student lot must have a 2025-26 parking pass displayed in the window.

  • Parking Boundaries: All cars must be parked inside the yellow parking pillars. The first two rows of the student lot are reserved for Senior Mentors and parking passes in this are must be between the numbers 1-40.

  • Parking Enforcement: Moving forward, student-specific "tickets/citations" will be issued for illegally parked cars or vehicles without a pass displayed.

Enjoy your weekend!

Mr. Tomco

AND ANOTHER ONE... AND ANOTHER ONE...

During the girl’s cross country race at Mentor, I saw one of the most heartwarming and inspiring moments from one of the Chardon girls. A Chardon runner got mixed up and ended up following some participants as they crossed the course which caused her to head the wrong way on the course. One of her coaches, Ms. Calzada, and a parent, Ms. Ghobrial, stopped her to let her know she was off the course direction and she was visibly upset and exhausted. The amazing part about this was in that moment she was devastated, confused, and upset, but through it all she kept saying she needed to finish the race. In a situation like this, most kids would have given up and quit right there. But this girl was insistent on continuing the race. So her coach took her back to the place where she veered the wrong way and she continued the race...even finishing before some other racers did. It was truly a moment of grit, hustle, and an unwavering determination that is commendable on all levels especially for a middle schooler.

CHARDON ATHLETIC BOOSTERS CHARDON ATHLETIC BOOSTERS

The Chardon Athletic Boosters are looking for some sports loving volunteers to help staff the Topper Shop. Money made at the topper shop goes right back to supporting both CHS and CMS athletic teams. For more information about the boosters reach out to chardonboosters@gmail.com.

Sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0C4AA4AC2EA2F8C61-57850468-fall#/

The Boosters are excited to share that we are having a brand new all-sport fundraiser this year. On October 4th, we will be All in for Athletics! Tickets are on sale now at https://omella.com/uygyy . Please join us for a night promising fun, school spirit and camaraderie with other Hilltopper Sports Fans.

The boosters raise anywhere between $30,000-50,000 in any given year mainly through events like this, sponsorships, and spirit wear sales. That money goes directly back to your athletes in uniforms, technology, the athletics website, senior banners, and more. Last year the boosters were able to provide new uniforms for CMS Girls and Boys Basketball and CHS Football, Boys Lacrosse, and Girls Basketball. This year we have already purchased new uniforms for CHS Girls Tennis, Boys Basketball and will be soon buying for the Gymnastics Team. These uniforms cost anywhere from $2000 for a small team upwards of $10,000 for our larger teams.
