Hello Parents of High Schoolers!

After fall break, I will be starting to conduct the required 1:1 meetings with all QCVA high school students starting with Seniors first to discuss future planning based on a specific set of questions. Your students will be receiving an email from me within the weeks to follow informing them of scheduling a virtual meeting with the counselor.

In the meetings, we will discuss goals your child has for this school year and for their future. Additionally, we will talk about the steps and benefits in planning ahead, as well as any possible challenges reaching these goals. The responses to these questions will be recorded in a Google Form. Once I submit the form with the individual student's responses, an email will automatically be sent directly to that student's parent(s).

When you receive the email with your student's responses, please review it with them, then complete and submit the attached form titled "QCVA College/Career Readiness Parent Verification Form" so that I know you have received this information. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you!

Proctorio Lockdown Browser- To enhance academic integrity, the Proctorio Lockdown Browser will be implemented for all online Edgenuity tests for students in grades 7-12, beginning September 2. This browser prevents students from accessing unauthorized materials or engaging in activities that could provide an unfair advantage during an exam. All Edgenuity quizzes and assessments will require this browser to be used. Students using QCUSD Chromebooks will have the Proctorio extension automatically installed, while those using their own devices must download the extension. Please note that Proctorio is only available as an extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. The Proctorio extension will not work on a table, iPad, or phone. After the launch date, students will not be able to complete any Edgenuity assessment without the Proctorio Lockdown Browser. Please click here to read more about the lockdown browser. Please click here to view the step-by-step process of completing an Edgenuity assessment with Proctorio

Kinder to Grade 6: Students may request retakes for Assess-Its, Summary/Reflection, or Quizzes from their facilitator through the SchoolsPLP chat. Students are encouraged to attend tutoring when needed.

Grades 7 to 12: Quizzes and Unit Tests are used throughout the Edgenuity curriculum to assess student learning. Students must score 70% or higher on the assessments to progress in the course. The first and second attempts of a quiz or Unit Test can be taken without the assistance of a facilitator. If a student does not meet the 70% threshold within the first two attempts, they will be required to submit a copy of their lesson notes to their facilitator before receiving a third attempt. Students will need to attend tutoring with their subject area facilitator before receiving a fourth attempt on an assessment.
