Hello Ecole Maple Families,

Hello Ecole Maple Families!

This week marks 1 of 2 shortened week, with both Friday April 18th and Monday April 21st being a holiday!

Theatre Club support!

Rehearsals are happening regularly and costume fittings have begun! Please see the poster below, as we are still in need of some items to help us complete the sets and costumes.

Clubs and Teams galore!

Many clubs and teams are starting up, or are in full swing! Students are engaged with Handwork club, Book Club, Badminton, Theatre club, Girls and Boys Basketball, and running club! Girls basketball is also into their season and are playing games again this week!

Updated Supervision Lines outside!

You may have noticed if you're dropping students off that we have updated our supervision zones outside. With the addition of the portables and after consulting with staff, we have adjusted supervision zones on the pavement so students avoid playing behind the portables, or on the grass closer to the parking lot.

Looking forward to seeing you all this week!

Special Olympics Donations

École Maple has the amazing privilege of hosting the Limestone District School Board Special Olympics Elementary Sports Festival on Monday May 5th. We want to provide a very warm welcome to the 120 athletes who will participate. Our school community will prepare small gift bags for each participant as a souvenir of this special event. We are asking for donations of the following items:

  • Materials to make 120 gift bags (lunch size brown paper bags and ribbons)

  • Materials to make 120 friendship bracelets (plastic beads and elastic thread)

  • Materials to make 120 bookmarks (cardstock and ribbons)

There will be a box labelled "Special Olympics donations" across from the main office where students can drop off the requested items. We would like to receive all donations by Thursday April 17th.

Thank you in advance for helping us with this wonderful event.

ASUS Camps strives to create a positive atmosphere to help your children develop friendships, discover new skills, and (most importantly) have FUN! Check out their website for more information - www.asuscamp.ca

Spaces are filling up fast, so don't miss out on this opportunity. If you have any questions, please contact Orli Rich, the Director of Operations, at camps.operations@asus.queensu.ca.

Why Use the SchoolMessenger App?

When you join SchoolMessenger, you will be able to:

  • receive imporant information from LDSB
  • join classrooms and extra-curricular groups
  • report a student's absence (same day and in advance)

Reporting A Student's Absence:

The new student absence reporting system will let you use a mobile app, a website, or an interactive toll-free phone number to report an absence in advance. These options are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Future absences can be reported at any time.

If your student is marked absent and the absence hasn’t been reported in advance, our new SafeArrival system will attempt to reach the student’s priority contact by telephone to confirm the absence. If our system is unable to reach the designated contacts, school office staff will follow up.
