Principal's Message

Dear families,

The first week of school is all about building a strong school community. The second week we transition into learning and academics. The students did great!

We enjoyed meeting families at back to school night! We believe school is a partnership between home and school. If you ever have any questions, please always feel free to reach out!

If your child is a car rider in the morning, please do not park and walk your students to the front door. This slows down the car rider line process and is a safety risk to your child. Please stay in your car and wait in the car rider line each morning.

Taking Care of our Chromebooks!

With daily use and travel back and forth from home, student Chromebooks can be easily damaged or lost. Repairing and replacing computers and chargers has cost a great deal of money and is taking away from other important school needs across the district.

Starting this school year, families at each school in the district will be responsible for paying the cost of lost or damaged student Chromebooks and chargers.

Please review the costs below for the different damages and replacements.

Damaged/Lost Chromebook Case: $18

Damaged/Lost Chromebook Charger: $40

Damaged Keyboard: $65

Damaged Screen: $50

Lost Chromebook: $200

Here are some tips to encourage responsible use of Chromebooks with your student:

always keep their Chromebook in the black protective case
immediately put their Chromebook and charger in their backpack after using it at home
keep the Chromebook closed and hold it tightly with both hands when moving around the classroom or at home
keep liquids and food away from their Chromebook

Dyslexia - Universal Screener

Indiana Code 20-35.5 requires all Indiana schools to administer a universal screener for

learning characteristics related to dyslexia. Dyslexia is a learning disorder that involves difficulty reading due to problems identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words (decoding). All students in kindergarten, grade one, and grade two will be given the screener in the month of August. Please contact our school with any questions or concerns regarding the universal dyslexia screener.

evaluación universal para identificar las características de aprendizaje relacionadas con la

Join our SES PTA!!!

SES PTA is kicking off their 2-week membership drive! They are inviting any and all who would like to join the PTA and be a part of creating events and raising money to support students and teachers. The flyer below was sent home with students this Friday!

If you would like to join, you can complete the form at the bottom of the flyer your student brought home and send it back to school with your child. They can drop it off to the front office.
