Inclusion & Friendship Week
This week in Dangan, we enjoyed celebrating Inclusion & Friendship Week, with a focus on helping every child feel valued, included and respected in our school community. Throughout the week, classes took part in a variety of activities based on friendship, kindness, teamwork and understanding others. These included art activities, buddy walks and talks, singing, partner challenges, kindness tasks and circle time discussions.
As part of Autism Awareness Month, we also highlighted the importance of recognising and appreciating the different strengths and needs of all our pupils. On Wednesday, pupils enjoyed sensory play with Mrs Prendergast’s class and were delighted to meet Easky, a very hardworking support dog.
Each day had its own special theme:
Monday – In a world where you can be anything, Be Kind
Tuesday – The Importance of Inclusion
Wednesday – Autism Acceptance Day
Thursday – Celebrating Different Cultures
Friday – Searching for Happiness
Well done to everyone who helped make the week so meaningful and enjoyable while promoting the important message of kindness, inclusion and respect for all.

Active Schools Week Information
Our first week back after the Easter Holidays will be Active Week. Students can wear in their PE uniform throughout the week (navy shorts only) and all students will have active homework.
Active Week will also mark the beginning of the Dangan Junior World Cup for the infant classes, the Minor World Cup for 1st to 3rd Class, and the Senior World Cup for 4th to 6th Class. This competition always creates a great sense of excitement and fun throughout the school!
A google form for parents sign-up for our Sports Day (Friday 17th April) will be sent out when we return to school after the break. We will run a jersey day on Sports Day where students are asked to bring in €2 to help with the costs of all of the events running during that week.
As we enter into our final term and we keep our fingers crossed for being outdoors and having good weather, we would be very thankful for any donations of unwanted PE equipment i.e. footballs, goals, skipping ropes etc. that are still in great condition. Please contact the office if you have any donations.

FAI 5 aside soccer
The girls had a fantastic day at the 5-a-side tournament on Thursday 19th March. They played brilliantly throughout, winning their group and showing great teamwork, determination and enthusiasm. Although they were unfortunately knocked out in the final stages, it was a wonderful achievement and, most importantly, a great fun day out for everyone involved.
Boys’ 5-a-Side Football – Wednesday 18th March
Well done to the boys teams that took park in the 5 a-side soccer tournament in the MDL in Navan recently. The boys had some great performances on the day and they were unlucky not to make the next stage of the competition. Well done to everyone on their great effort.

We are delighted that the Ladies’ League match against Armagh will be hosted in Summerhill this Sunday at 2pm. We are calling on all club girls to come along in their club colours and take part in a guard of honour to welcome the teams onto the pitch. It promises to be a great occasion, and a wonderful opportunity to show our support for Mary Kate and the team.
The match is being streamed live for those that can’t make it - see attached details and link…
