📚 School Updates & Upcoming Events

⭐ State Superintendent Visit: We are excited to welcome State Superintendent Levi Bachmeier to Anamoose-Drake Elementary today, Friday, October 9th! He will have the opportunity to visit classrooms, meet our students and staff, and see all of the wonderful things happening in our school!
🍀 4-H Classroom Visits: We had some of our older 4-H students visit our elementary classrooms this week to share information about 4-H and the opportunities available to students. We appreciate them taking the time to visit with our younger students!
🍎 Apple Crunch Off: Our elementary students will participate in the Apple Crunch Off on Monday, October 12th! This fun event celebrates healthy eating, locally grown produce, and the importance of supporting our farmers. Students and staff will gather in the gym at 1:15 PM to take one big, crunchy bite of an apple together! It's a fun way to encourage healthy choices while celebrating National Farm to School Month!
📅 Early Dismissal – Wednesday, October 14th: Students will dismiss early next Wednesday for staff professional development. Shuttle students will dismiss at 1:30 PM, followed by rural bus students around 1:45 PM.
💻 Fall ND A+ Interim Assessments: Our elementary students have been busy completing their Fall ND A+ Interim Assessments in reading and math! We will continue wrapping up assessments next week!
🍦 End of the 1st Quarter & AR Reward: The first quarter officially ends on Friday, October 16th! Students have until 12:00 PM that day to meet their Accelerated Reader (AR) goals. Those who reach their goals will get to celebrate with some delicious Pride Dairy ice cream that afternoon following Castle Time!
➕ MathCounts Training: Several of our elementary teachers will be attending MathCounts training in Rugby on Tuesday, October 13th, as we continue finding ways to strengthen math instruction and support our students' learning!
🔠 Parent-Teacher Conferences: Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, October 19th, from 2:00–8:00 PM. Students will dismiss early that day, with shuttle students leaving at 1:30 PM and rural bus students around 1:45 PM. We look forward to visiting with families and sharing all the progress our students have made during the first quarter!
📜 1st Quarter Report Cards: First-quarter report cards will be available during Parent-Teacher Conferences on Monday, October 19th. This is a great opportunity for families to visit with teachers about their child's academic progress and goals for the remainder of the school year!
📚 Scholastic Book Fair: Our Scholastic Book Fair is coming to the elementary library October 19–27! The Book Fair will also be open throughout Parent-Teacher Conferences on Monday, October 19th, so families can stop in and shop together!
🍂 No School – October 22nd & 23rd: Just a reminder that there will be NO SCHOOL on Thursday, October 22nd, or Friday, October 23rd. Enjoy the long weekend!
