ASVAB Information
Do you want an in-depth career exploration assessment? Thinking of joining the military after graduation? Working towards an Honors Diploma? Then consider taking the ASVAB! The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) will be administered at CCHS on Thursday October 23, 2025. The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude assessment that measures developed abilities and is often used for general career exploration as well as preparedness for military careers. The state of Ohio also recognizes an ASVAB score of >50 as a student strength demonstration replacement for the Honors Diploma. Stop by the guidance office to sign up and pick up an Opt-In form.
Support Comet Athletics with McDonald’s!
Central Crossing High School has been selected for the 2025 McDonald’s High School Sports Digital Fundraiser! On Thursday, October 23, the McDonald’s at 3370 Broadway, Grove City will donate 10% of all digital sales made in the McDonald’s App directly to our athletic department. Order through the app that day to support Comet sports all year long!
Driver's Education Information
Each school year, our high school front offices routinely field inquiries from parents about Driver's Education as their students approach ages 15 and 16. As a district, we regrettably do not offer driver's education courses in our high schools as many families were accustomed to when growing up. In lieu of that, we have worked to create a list of area driver's education schools and programs for families that is readily accessible as they map out programs, costs, and schedules. Click HERE to obtain more information about requirements and resources.
YSU Art Day – Explore Your Future in the Arts!
Youngstown State University’s Department of Art invites prospective students and families to Art Day on Saturday, October 25, from 9 AM–2 PM in Bliss Hall. This free, open house-style event includes campus tours, hands-on art activities, and opportunities to meet faculty, students, and alumni while learning about careers in the arts.

Counseling Corner
Signs of Suicide
This week Central Crossing High School, in collaboration with Nationwide Children’s Hospital, provided training for the students in health class called Signs of Suicide. The Signs of Suicide® Prevention Program (SOS) is a school-based suicide prevention program supported by SAMHSA. The goal of the curriculum is to prevent and reduce suicidal behavior by expanding the safety net for students experiencing mental and emotional distress. If you are interested in learning the tools students learned or simply want to know more about the warning signs or ways to talk with your student about these sensitive topics, please visit this website for more information. If you are concerned about your student, you can contact Nationwide Children’s Crisis Line at 614-722-1800 or dial 9-8-8 for emergency mental health services.
