Chill out and Draw with Olive, the Other Reindeer
Create art while engaging with Olive the Other Reindeer, a super cute and clever storybook. This lesson is perfect for remote learners with links to online story resources and a step-by-step drawing guide. Use it as a calming exercise as students watch the adorable 45 minute animated movie or draw in response to the book. Print the step by step handout or click through the steps together.

Clay Penguin Step by Step
This penguin lesson is a tactile math experience. Each student begins with one lump of air dry clay (like model magic) and divides it over and over again until every last piece of clay has a purpose in making an adorable penguin. Take a peek at the stop motion digital extension you and your class can make from these little creatures too!

Create Clay Snowman and film it
This step by step lesson is a tactile math and art experience where an adorable clay snowfriend emerges from a single lump of air dry clay (like model magic). Then use it for this stop motion animation challenge where students create an illusion from their clay artwork.
Create a Snowfriend and Fly with it!
These sweet snowfriends are inspired by The Snowman Story by Raymond Briggs. The step by step drawing guide will help students make their own accessories that convincingly sit on the head or wrap around the next and blow in the wind. They will add highlight and shadow using colored pencils or crayons. This is a great lesson for remote learning or independent work.
Then, take these snowfriends on a wintry flight recreating the wonderous scenes in the story.
Create a Snowfriend in a Snow Globe
This digital art lesson takes young students through the steps of drawing a snowfriend in the Keynote app using the provided template and inserting it into an animated snow globe in the Do Ink green screen app also provided. The snow globe animation template can also be used for a photo booth experience with the live camera feature. This puts anyone in the snow globe instantaneously. Couple this lesson with a fun story about a family in a snow globe, The Snow Globe Family.
