Gator Care Week
During Gators Care Week, students at Greenbrier will focus on what they can do to serve the community around us. With their buddy classes, students will put together learning kits for underprivileged schools in North Chicago and make friendship bracelets for those students. We will also host a used toy drive to benefit the new Genero-City Toy Shop in Arlington Heights, whose mission is to build a supportive community of caregivers through accessible and inclusive opportunities with resources that connects families navigating the needs of their child in any therapy, regardless of diagnosis. We are asking gator students to look through their toy collections and find 1-2 toys, books, or games they can donate to facilitate play development for children of all ages and abilities. Here are the restrictions:
- No stuffed animals/plush
- No clothing
- No broken toys
- No sports equipment
- No used playdoh/kinetic sand
All toys, books, and games must be clean and all pieces/parts intact.
All parts of the toy, book or game should be placed in a clear ziploc bag of any size and brought to the collection bins at Greenbrier by Thursday, January 29th.
We will be asking for parent volunteers to help the students with these wonderful projects during the school day. Look for a sign-up genius coming soon!
