Bordeaux Elementary School
September 27 , 2026
Dear Bordeaux Families,
It’s hard to believe we’ll be entering October this next week. It wasn’t too long ago that we welcomed students back from summer break, and here we are already in Fall. Keep signing those reading logs and looking for your students’ book bags. We encourage you to share reading time with your students and to also allow time for them to read out loud to you.
Specialists at BDX
We have four amazing specialist teachers, Mrs. Omdahl, Ms. Daniel, Mr. Niemi, and Mr. Hill. Please see the attached Fall Newsletter for an introductory paragraph from each.
School Improvement Plan Commitment
Teachers will utilize the strategy of conferring on targeted skills with students 1:1 about the independent, good fit books they are reading to increase comprehension, reading volume, stamina, and genre experience in order to work towards students’ instructional level.
We commit to utilizing structures and routines to allow for independence so that we can schedule our conferring conversations and participate in team planning/collaboration about what is working and how to improve.
When we do this, students will experience having authentic goals and the time to practice strategies to support this goal.
