Message From Superintendent Mueller
Good Afternoon, CUSD,
What an incredible week it has been in our district! The unveiling of the stunning public art mosaic on the 6th Street wall of CHS was definitely a highlight. If you missed it, you can read all about it here.
The CHS campus is busier than ever with performances, playoffs, and powder puff! Come out and watch some competitive flag football tonight as the Seniors (CHS2025) take on the challenging Juniors (CHS2026) at Niedermeyer Field at 7pm.
We cannot stress enough how important it is for our planning that you register your student/s for the 2025-26 school year. Administrators will make staffing and scheduling decisions based on the number of students enrolled. Currently we have 1,200 students registered for TK-12th grade. Our expected enrollment is over 2,700 so we are very low right now. ARE YOU REGISTERED??

Next Thursday, June 5th is the Board meeting at which we will honor our retirees. Congratulations and best wishes for good health and great adventures in your retirement: Allyson Bans-Silva (VES), Dianne Chrisman (CHS), Sandy Davis (CHS), Chuy Jimenez (M&O), Jodi Judd (SSES), Linda Kullmann (CMS), Cecelia Marston (VES), Yolanda Reyes (M&O), Suzanne Szalay (VES), and Laurel Wheeler (SSES). We will miss you!
Have a great weekend,
Karl J. Mueller
Superintendent

As our educators, parents, and community come together to connect, challenge, and champion our students, we are humbled by the outpouring of compliments. What a positive testament to our CUSD family!
- Kimberley Junk: Managing staff absences and substitutes has always been part of Kimberley's role here at SSES, but securing subs and managing all the moving parts has become more and more complex! Kimberley has created a terrific planning system, checks Frontline continuously, changes vacancy codes when necessary, and ALWAYS warmly welcomes our guest staff members so they keep coming back, thankfully. We could not run our school without appropriate staffing, and Kimberley keeps us going! Thank you, Kimberley!
- Mr. Jeff Beckley finds ways to include all students in meaningful ways in his Weight Training class. He creates a fun, goal orientated environment where all students are interacting, getting stronger and building friendships. Mr. Beckley comes to IEP meetings with positive feedback about students, great ideas to move forward with and realistic solutions. He is always willing to make any accommodation or modification needed to ensure students are included and makes a huge difference for students in his classes. Thank you for being an exemplary teacher who promotes inclusion for all!
