Everything is going to be ok...
“Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out.”
— John Wooden
Life doesn’t always unfold the way we expect. Sometimes we face situations that are unexpected, disappointing, or deeply saddening, circumstances we never asked for and cannot change. In those moments, it’s important to give ourselves grace and acknowledge that it’s okay to feel frustrated, hurt, or uncertain. My sincere condolences go out to anyone navigating a difficult time. These moments can feel heavy, and you don’t have to pretend otherwise.
While we can’t control everything that happens to us, we can control how we respond. Making the best of a situation doesn’t mean ignoring the pain; it means choosing, when we’re ready, to move forward with resilience, patience, and hope. Even small steps forward are meaningful.
Not everything is within our control, but our mindset, our actions, and our willingness to keep going are. So when life brings the unexpected, let’s take it one step at a time, support one another, and do our best to make the most of where we are right now.
Still 17 graduates are left for FAFSA. This needs to be submitted for graduating students as soon as possible or you can fill out an opt out form which are in the office. There are Cash 4 College nights held virtually and in person all over the county if you need assistance. This is the only way you will get any type of financial aid in college and this is the only way you will get to go to the JC for free. Please fill it out as soon as possible, so you can find out how much money you will earn and if you get the Cal Grant or other scholarships.
I have completed my Junior and Sophomore Spring Meets. If your student missed it have them schedule an appt with me and I can give show them the presentation and answer any questions they may have. Next week, I will have the Career Exploration Program with the juniors that took the ASVAB in the Fall.
There is a Google Classroom with resources and announcements...ask your students if they have joined yet.
My newsletters are to inform parents mostly, but there will also be information for students. Some information carries over each week, but always look for the new stuff.
I am very easy to get ahold of and respond pretty quickly. If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, clarification, or concerns.
See below for friendly reminders: Important Dates, Mental Health Tips/Resources, SRJC information, Scholarship opportunities, and volunteer opportunities.
