Highlights from Our October Meeting
Thank you to everyone who attended our September PTCO meeting. Here are the key updates families may want to know!
🖥️ Communication & Specials
PTCO would like to use Fun Run funds to better support specials (art, library, music, PE).
Staff will increase updates through Talking Points, newsletters, flyers, social media, and the school website.
Special area teachers may share reminders, updates, and wish lists for needed supplies.
📚Reading & Library Initiatives
Exploring a school-wide Read-a-Thon during Cherry Creek Reads Week.
Reading tips and book recommendations may be shared in newsletters.
Continuing conversations about making the library a more welcoming space and increasing family access.
🗓️ Upcoming Events
Culture Night: This week, featuring a craft truck and PTCO information table.
Treat Street: October 30. Candy donations begin October 19 and will be collected in the lobby.
Parent-Teacher Conferences: November 2-3. Progress reports go home October 30.
Otis Fundraiser: Orders accepted through November 19; distribution on December 14.
Family Game Night: November 18. A free family fun event with bingo and prizes.
🎉 Principal's Update
Title I funding continues to support additional staffing, paraeducators, library services, and student programs.
Sagebrush is currently enrolled above projected numbers.
✨ Community & Celebrations
Smoky Hill is collecting packaged snacks, toiletries, and shelf-stable food items.
A huge thank you to kindergarten families for their strong support of the Fun Run and school fundraising efforts.
💰 PTCO Business
The PTCO approved a Pre-K classroom grant for supplies and learning materials.
Business sponsorship opportunities are available.
Families will continue to hear about easy ways to support the school, including community rewards programs and wish-list donations.

Sarah Csanyi - President
Hi! I’m Sarah. I am the lucky mom of two kids. My son is a 4th grader, and my daughter is a 6th grader. I am an English teacher at the Community College of Aurora. When I am not grading countless papers, driving my children to the ends of the earth, and folding bottomless laundry, I like to ride bikes, ski down mountains, read or write, and laugh a lot.
Therese Padilla - Vice President
Hello, I'm Therese - Co-Vice President! I have been a grandma at Sagebrush with my grandkids for 7 years. I have volunteered and been a member of the PTCO for the past 5 years. I enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren!
Jo Bojorquez - Co-Vice President
Hi I’m Jo! I have a fourth grader at sagebrush! My son is a Sagebrush alumni, in sixth grade! When I’m not at some sporting/school event for my kids I love to read and craft. I really like sports and spending time with family and friends!
Kaila Leyendecker - Secretary
Hi! My name is Kaila Leyendecker and I am lucky enough to be both a Sagebrush employee AND parent! I currently have a first grader and my youngest will be a Kindergarten leopard next year. My Sagebrush role is Instructional Coach and your students know me as "Mrs. Leyendecker, the teacher that helps my teacher!" My favorite free time activities are reading, embroidering, and visiting museums with my boys!
Teresa Colassi - Co-Secretary
My name is Teresa Colassi and I have two Sagebrush leopards- one in 2nd grade and one in Kindergarten. I love to run, dance, and I enjoy watching musicals on stage- it has been exciting to share this experience with my kids!
