Ashland Middle School Staff Update

Good Afternoon,
As I mentioned in my update on Monday, if you’re not ready to think about back-to-school details yet, please feel free to set this aside until you’re ready to return on the 25th!
You should have received an email from Superintendent Adams this morning with the district agenda for our opening days. I’ve attached our middle school agenda as well. While it doesn’t include much additional detail, it will give you a sense of how I plan to use our building-based time. Beyond our required topics for the first two days, we’ll focus on setting the tone for the year and providing time for you to work in teams, departments, and grade levels to align on expectations and curriculum.
I’m also reattaching our faculty and curriculum meeting dates so you can mark your calendars. This year, we’ll be doing important work to evaluate our current practices and implement plans to ensure all students receive the support they need to be successful. I’m looking forward to an amazing year together.
I’m looking forward to welcoming our new teachers on Wednesday at New Teacher Orientation. If you’ve been asked to serve as a mentor, you should have received details about joining us for lunch, please let me know if you need that information.
Finally, Mr. Adams noted that the building will be open next week from 6:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. Please remember that our custodial staff will be working in the evenings to finish the main first-floor hallways. Because our building houses central office and other departments, this work can’t be done during the day. If you plan to be here after 5:00 p.m. next week, let me know so Mark and I can ensure you have access while also giving the custodians the time and space they need to make our building look its best.
Enjoy your final days of summer break, and rest up for what I’m sure will be a fantastic, though exhausting, start to the school year!
