Hello and Happy New Year,

I hope you had a wonderful break! We didn't have too much time during the month of December to listen to our musician of the month since we were getting ready for our Winter Concert. Yo Yo Ma has been a favorite musician of mine since I was very young. He was born in Paris to Chinese parents but moved to the United States when he was 7. His father taught him to play the cello and he now plays a cello (nicknamed "Petunia") which is valued at $2.5 million! He has collaborated with several musicians, including Bobby McFerrin and James Taylor. In 2009, he was invited to play at President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony.

Below, you will find some videos of Yo Yo Ma playing and the link to Woodland's Spotify playlist. Enjoy!
