East August 29
Three Things to Know
First Day of School
We look forward to welcoming our fifth and sixth-grade students back to school on Tuesday, September 2! East Intermediate begins at 7:20 a.m. and dismisses at 2:15 p.m. As a reminder, students are permitted in the buildings 15 minutes before the start of the day! Staff members will be available to help them find their classrooms, navigate the building, and walk to/from their buses.
FinalForms
If you have not yet done so, please log into your FinalForms account to review information, make any necessary changes, and sign off for the new school year. This quick process, which takes less than 10 minutes, is REQUIRED for all families. If you’ve already completed your forms—thank you!
All FinalForms must be completed by Monday, September 22. For safety reasons, students with incomplete forms after this date will not be allowed to attend school until their forms are complete.
Pick-Up/Drop-Off
Please visit the Events and Reminders section below to review the changes to drop-off and pick-up procedures for East prior to the first day of school. More information can also be found here.

Transportation
- East student drop-off will occur from 7:05-7:20 a.m. at the rear entrance of the building. East dismissal will occur from 2:15 to 2:30 p.m. at the same location. Please familiarize yourself with our full drop-off and pick-up procedures by referencing the packet you received at Open House or by visiting our pick-up and drop-off web page.
- Please note that there is no office pick-up after 1:30 p.m. If you need to pick your child up from school prior to 1:30 p.m., please send a detailed note OR call/email the main office with the student's name, teacher name, name of the person picking up the student, and time you will be picking up.
- Busing: As a reminder, all routes and bus-related updates/communication are shared with families through the StopFinder App (available for download in the App Store and Google Play). Breakfast & Lunch
Cafeteria menus and information regarding student meal accounts can be found on the Midview Local Schools Food Services web page.
Chromebooks
Students will be assigned a Chromebook on the first day of school. Students are expected to charge their Chromebook each night and take care of their device, charger, and Chromebook case!
Midview Local Schools App - Rooms
Rooms is Midview’s official parent-teacher communication tool. Integrated directly into our Midview Schools app (available for download on Apple App Store or Google Play), Rooms allows you to receive classroom updates/announcements and send or receive one-on-one messages—all in a secure, easy-to-use platform!
- New to Midview or haven’t used Rooms yet?: Parents/guardians will receive an invitation via text message or email on August 29. But no need to wait—you may already be able to log in! If you are listed as a custodial/primary guardian in FinalForms, you’re already enrolled. Just open the app, select “Rooms” from the bottom navigation bar, and log in using your email address or phone number.
- Returning Rooms user?: We recommend updating the app to the latest version via the App Store or Google Play (if you are not prompted to do so in the app). New updates and an improved user experience are available and may not work with older versions.
- For more support, please visit our Rooms Support web page.

Staff Spotlights
Tammy Hammond, School Counselor & Student Council Advisor
Years in the district: 28
If you were to receive a fun school year superlative, what would it be?
Most likely to have an energy drink in her hands
Three adjectives students would use to describe me: Tiny hands Hammond (I have a collection of tiny hands), Snack slayer, and Squad Maker (I like to help students find their friend group)
What is a phrase, rule, or motto you often share with students?
Failure leads to success. I also have tiny hands and ask students if they need a hand.
What does being a “Middie” mean to you?
Being a Middie means we are a family. Our number one priority is the students and we are willing to work together to make sure kids know they belong here at Midview!
Amanda Bohannon, Clinic/Guidance Secretary

What excites you most about your job?: So much, honestly! Everyday brings something different and that keeps it exciting. Getting to know each student and knowing I have the opportunity to make a positive impact on their lives is my favorite part of the job.
Some of my hobbies/interests outside of my career: Traveling, Reading, Spending time with my family and going on adventures with my kids and granddaughter.
Working at Midview Local Schools has taught ME: Working at Midview has taught me that patience and understanding go a long way. We never know what a student is going through, so getting to understand them is so important. I've taken this lesson into my life outside of school as well.
Stacey Hassler, School Nurse

What is a phrase, rule, or motto you often share with students?
Keep your hands clean ad your heart kind.
What does being a “Middie” mean to you?
To me, being a Middie means being part of a supportive community, a family where students feel respected, encouraged, and supported in all they do.
I am not a big fan of: cold weather and snakes
What’s your go-to drink and/or snack order to get through the day?
