Hello Fulton Families!

We have a big week ahead! Homecoming kicks off with Pajama Day on Monday—let’s dress up all week to show our Pirate Pride!

On Tuesday, we’re excited for our campus-wide Literacy Read-In for DEAR Day (Drop Everything and Read).

Teachers will also be reaching out soon to schedule Parent-Teacher Conferences. Our campus conference day is set for October 13th.

We truly love having your child at Fulton and are so grateful for your partnership. We hope your weekend is filled with family fun, and thank you for being such supportive parents!

Enjoy your weekend!

Pirate Store Coming Soon! Pirate Store Coming Soon!

The Pirate Store at FE is coming soon!!

Ahoy, Fulton Elementary families! Our Pirate Store is a place where students can turn their good choices into treasure. By earning Pirate Bucks, students will have the chance to shop once a month during lunch for prizes both big and small.

How to Earn Pirate Bucks:

  • Perfect Attendance each month

    • Be here all day, every day—no tardies, no early check-outs.

    • 3 bucks will be given away each month that you have perfect attendance!

  • Good Behavior

    • Teachers, staff, and even lunch monitors can hand out Pirate Bucks for kindness, hard work, and following the Pirate Code.

The Pirate Store:

  • Open once a month during lunch.

  • Spend Pirate Bucks right away on small treasures or save them up for bigger loot!

Prizes in the Treasure Chest:

  • Stickers

  • Croc charms

  • Bracelets

  • Tumblers

Art Contest Art Contest

Good morning!

I have heard from the contest coordinator (who is also having trouble with the entry form link) and she has asked that all submissions be turned in to me and I will fill out the entry forms with her. So, if your pirate is interested in participating please email me (cdaniel@rfisd.us) with their name, the type of art they made (painting, drawing, collage, etc.), and their 25 word artist statement by Friday, September 26th. I apologize for the short timeline but I hope your pirate participates and I am excited to see what they create! (the physical art pieces are still due to me by October 3rd with the title label on the back!)

Thank you,

Cora Daniel

Can Your Child Tell What Happened In the Story?

Reading 101 for Parents: Comprehension | Reading Rockets

Comprehension is understanding what you read — the goal of reading! It is the thinking process readers use to understand what they read. Strong vocabulary, background knowledge, and an understanding of how language works are keys to comprehension.
