Cheerleading lending some great support!

Our lady husky cheer/dance team cheered for our elementary students as they entered the building. Our elementary started MAP testing and what better way to enter the building than with being cheered in!

Football Fridays!

A great tradition has taken place of our football team greeting our elementary as they enter the building! Each Friday, our gentlemen are greeting all of our students as they head to class. What a great way to build culture and support our elementary! Great work guys!

Message from Mr. Tejkl

May the Force Be With You

If you don't know, I am somewhat of a Star Wars "nerd" :). I say that proudly and my wife is always proud to know that I will never grow out of it either. (even better that my boys are beginning to love it too!). There is a saying in Star Wars that is "May the Force be with you." This saying is when saying good bye and to wish the best for the upcoming mission. Harrison Ford is a big part of the franchise but I love what he says here.

Instead of being that individual who is wishing you the best, let's be that individual who is doing the best for others. We have the honor and responsibility to be able to make each day the best for others and for ourselves. We are the driving force of each day and we have the power to influence how the day goes. We have the power to choose our attitude each day and with that power comes the responsibility of dictating how the day goes.

I wish that each day could be upbeat, positive overload and that the negative things would not arise. Unfortunately, that is not how life works and life would be boring if we didn't face challenges or difficulty. There in lies the power we have within each of us. We have the power to change our day and those around us just by the actions we choose. Be there for your family, be there for your friends, be the shinning light that brings out the best in others and yourself! Let's have a great week!

Quote of the week to make you think:

"'May the Force be with you' is charming but it's not important. What's important is that you become the Force - for yourself and perhaps for other people."

- Harrison Ford

Sincerely,

Tucker Tejkl

Extra Band Instruments? We will take them!

Doing your fall clean-up? Do you have a band instrument sitting in a closet, in the garage or basement or attic? The Shelby-Rising City Band would be happy to put it in the hands of a band student! We are accepting flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, French horns, trombones, baritones/euphoniums, tubas, orchestral bells, and Remo-style drum practice pads. Please contact our band director, Ms. Carrie Hansen (chansen@shelby.esu7.org) or bring it to the school office and be sure to leave us your name and address so we can thank you!
