Bilingual Bee!
Shoutout to the participants of Columbus’ first Bilingual Bee, a friendly competition organized by teacher Lynn Hoke.
Similar to a spelling bee, but instead of spelling, students were shown a picture and had to name it in both English and Spanish.
Winners (from left to right) Cristel Tinoco (4th/5th grade), Eliany Arenas Martinez (2nd grade), Isidro Zurita Garcia (K/1st grade), and Jacob Lopez-Vazquez (3rd grade).
Thank you to the McMinnville Education Foundation for funding the bee’s supplies via a mini-grant and to the Columbus PTA for pitching in for the prizes! And congratulations, Cougars!
