Dear Grandview Families,

As we prepare to welcome students back for a new school year, I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible effort happening behind the scenes. Our construction crews, maintenance team, and school staff have been working diligently to get the building ready for a great start—moving furniture, deep cleaning classrooms, and organizing learning spaces.

In addition to preparing their rooms, our teachers have been actively engaged in professional learning focused on student engagement, educator wellness, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and our Character Strong social-emotional learning program. We are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment for every child, and we can’t wait to see their smiling faces very soon!

With Tiger Pride,
Dr. Susan Short
Principal, Grandview Elementary

Welcome Back from Your School Counselor!

Dear Grandview Families,

Social-emotional learning (SEL) plays an important role in creating a positive and supportive classroom environment. It helps students build empathy, boost their confidence, and strengthen relationships with both peers and teachers.

At Grandview, we use a program focused on three key goals: Be Kind, Be Strong, and Be Well. These principles guide students in developing the skills they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Family Connections Resource Center: Family Connections Resource Center:

Need assistance with back-to-school items?

If your family could use a little extra support as we head into the new school year, our Family Connections Resource Center (FRYSC) is here to help. Located on the basement (C) level of Grandview Elementary, the center offers a variety of free, confidential services.

While we are not able to provide direct financial assistance, we can help with school supplies, clothing, shoes, coats, hats, gloves, and food through our on-site pantry. We also offer referrals for housing, utility assistance, health and social services, as well as mental health and substance abuse counseling, and support during family or financial crises. Families are also invited to join us for Family Literacy Nights and holiday assistance programs throughout the year.

If you are in need of assistance or would like to learn more, please contact our FRYSC Coordinator, Gabby Schwaninger, at 859-261-9073 or by email at gabby.schwaninger@bellevue.kyschools.us.

We’re thrilled to share an exciting addition to our Specials rotation this year—Tiger Tracks to Success!

At Bellevue Independent Schools, we believe in preparing students not just for school, but for life. This new special area class is designed to help our K–5 students explore their futures through engaging lessons focused on college, careers, and personal goals. From learning about community helpers in kindergarten to mapping out future goals in fifth grade, students will build valuable skills in goal setting, teamwork, and decision-making. Tiger Tracks to Success is all about helping our young Tigers discover their strengths and start thinking about the path that’s right for them.

We’re proud to support each student as they begin their journey toward a bright and successful future!
