Virtual places to visit over break!
Day 1
Cancun, Mexico
On my latest trip to the Caribbean, I was able to swim alongside a photographer and man did he get great footage! I have connected videos and pics of me on this incredible trip all for my students to experience. They may not be able to visit the Caribbean but I can bring it to them! Feel free to share with students!
Turtle
I loved this little guy! I called him Squirt and he swam alongside me for a long time!

Sunken Ship
This was a ship that sunk in 1988. 6 people died when it went down. It is now a home for thousands of fish and plant life- including fire coral which surrounds it!
Underwater Museum? Yes, please!
This was so cool! "MUSA also known as ‘Museo Subacuático de Arte’ is an initiative that wished to divert a large group of ocean divers disrupting the balance of underwater fauna in the Caribbean coastline. The director of the Cancun National Marine Park -Jaime Gonzalez Canto wished to provide an alternative to preserving these disrupted coral reefs. By bringing British Sculptor Jason De Caires Taylor and a group of Mexican artists on board, nearly 500 statues with pH neutral marine concrete were anchored into the ocean."
Eagle Ray
This was absolutely incredible to see in person. It went by us and around us several times. It is beautiful and graceful and slightly terrifying all at the same time. It was at least my size and the tail was maybe 10 feet?
