All students had the opportunity to bring home some seeds to plant thanks to Ms. Lockerman and her Gardening Club. We hope you take advantage and plant some with your students. If you do, we want you to send us some pictures to sharon_gadsden@charleston.k12.sc.us.

In an effort to celebrate the diversity of all Minnie Hughes students and the many different cultures in the United States, each homeroom class will feature a country. Tutoring days have changed to Mondays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays.

Parents, make sure your child is getting enough sleep. We want student's brains to be alert and "school & test ready". It is difficult for students to think correctly when their brains are tired.

Attendance Matters!!!

It is important to arrive at school, on time, every day. Every minute of the student’s day is dedicated to make sure we are making the most of each learning opportunity. Strive towards scheduling a bedtime for your scholar. Set an alarm to arise in the mornings, if you noticed getting out of the house is a challenge. School is important! If you had challenges with arrival and dismissal, our Family Support Specialist will be in contact with you soon. Please also be mindful of appointment days. It is best to still send you child to school if you have an early morning appointment or schedule the appointment late so your child can still be present most of the day.

We cannot take messages over the phone. There have been people calling in the past saying they were the parent and was not, so please understand that this is for safety. Click the button below.
