The Buffalo Bulletin
October 11, 2026
It's hard to believe we have officially wrapped up the first nine weeks of school! What a great start to the year it has been at FMS! We have so much to celebrate, from the growth happening in our classrooms to the accomplishments of our students in athletics and extracurricular activities. I am incredibly proud of the effort our Buffs have shown, and I can't wait to see what they accomplish as we move into the second nine weeks!
As we celebrate our successes, there is one area where we really need your help: attendance! Being at school every day matters. Each day our students are absent is a missed opportunity to learn, grow, and build on the progress they are making. We know illnesses and unavoidable circumstances happen, but we are asking our families to make daily attendance a priority whenever possible. Improving our campus attendance rate is a team effort, and we need your partnership to make it happen!
We are also asking for your support in reinforcing expectations for classroom behavior. Middle school is a time of growth and maturity, and part of that growth is learning to take ownership of our actions and understand how our choices impact those around us. We have seen an increase in classroom disruptions, and we want to ensure our teachers can focus on teaching and our students can focus on learning. Please take a few minutes to talk with your child about making responsible choices, showing respect, and taking ownership of their behavior. These conversations at home make a difference, and we appreciate your partnership in holding our Buffs to high expectations.
Thank you for trusting us with your children and for continuing to support the work we do at FMS. We have a lot to be proud of, but we aren't finished yet! Let's carry this momentum into the next nine weeks, continue raising our expectations, and keep pushing our Buffs to reach their full potential.
Every day. Every choice. Our best effort.

Capturing Kids Hearts
Happy October from Ms. Camacho!
This month at FMS, our Capturing Kids' Hearts word of the month is Responsibility. We’re encouraging students to take ownership of their actions, choices, and commitments—both in and out of the classroom. Being responsible means following through with what you say you’ll do, being honest when mistakes happen, and doing your best without reminders. At home, parents can support this by setting clear expectations, encouraging their child to manage their own homework and chores, and praising them for demonstrating responsibility. Simple routines, like checking their planner together or talking about daily goals, can help build strong habits that last a lifetime.
Attached are this month's CKH family newsletters!
Notes from the Nurse
