BACK TO SCHOOLJuly 2026

It’s hard to believe, but the summer is quickly coming to an end. We are excited to begin the 2026-2027 school year and wanted to share some information that should be helpful as you prepare for registration and the start of school. Classes begin Thursday, August 6th at 8:05 AM.

  • Online registration is open using your Harmony account. You must first register for Harmony before completing school registration. Please make sure that your contact information, address, phone numbers, and email addresses, are current. https://harmony.cpsc.k12.in.us/familyaccess.nsf/hello.xsp

  • Students new to the district can register in person.

  • All students will receive a copy of the Prairie Planner on the first day of school. Information regarding attendance, the school calendar, student dress code, discipline, and school policies are included in the Prairie Planner. The handbook is available for viewing on our school’s website, and parents are encouraged to read through it.
  • Student drivers are required to pay $10 in the main office for a parking tag/permit during the first two weeks of school.
  • Clinton Prairie uses a learning management system called Canvas. Teachers will post class assignments and grades in Canvas. If a student is absent, he/she should check Canvas and read through the material that was covered in class. Worksheets or other extra assignments may be posted in Canvas. If these materials are not posted in Canvas, they can be retrieved when the student returns to school.
  • Students who do not have an extra-curricular activity immediately following the school day should not remain in the building. An evening game or event requires students to ride the bus or be picked up at the end of the school day.

OPEN HOUSE OPEN HOUSE

Open House for all students and parents will run from 5:00 – 6:30 on Tuesday, August 4th. Incoming 7th graders will meet in the Auditorium at 4:30 for a brief orientation. Please park in the rear of the building for Open House and enter through the fieldhouse doors (W18). Students can pick up their schedules, visit classrooms, and put items in their lockers during this time.

SCHEDULING SCHEDULING

Please note:

  • Schedule change requests were due May 15.
  • Schedule changes will only be considered for the following reasons:
    • You are missing a required course for graduation.
    • You have already earned credit for a course that appears on your schedule.
    • You do not meet the prerequisite for a scheduled course.
    • A scheduling error has resulted in a duplicate course or an incomplete schedule.
    • A computer or placement error occurred.
    • You need a required course for your diploma pathway or graduation requirements.

All schedule concerns must be submitted through the Google Form (Schedule Issue Form). Schedule change requests sent by email will not receive a response.

The Google Form is restricted to Clinton Prairie student email accounts, so students must submit the request using their school email address.

PERSONAL DEVICES PERSONAL DEVICES

The cell phone policy for students states, Under Senate Bill 78, students in Indiana public and charter schools are prohibited from using or even possessing personal wireless devices—including cellphones, smartwatches, and tablets—throughout the entire school day, starting with the 2026–2027 school year. This “bell-to-bell” ban extends beyond classroom instruction to include lunch periods, passing periods, and other non-instructional times.

“Wireless communication device” means any portable wireless device that has the capability to provide voice, messaging, or other data communication between two (2) or more parties including a:

  1. Cellular telephone

  2. Tablet computer

  3. Smart watch

  4. Laptop computer; or

  5. Gaming device

Cell phones and other electronic devices may not be used during school hours. These devices must be powered off completely (not in vibrate or silent mode) and remain in student lockers from 8:05AM-3:00PM. In case of emergency or management of the student’s health care, a student may use the telephone in the main office.

COMMUNICATION COMMUNICATION

We wanted to send a few tips and reminders in order for the school and our families to continue to work together to ensure that our students have a great year.

  • Please allow 24 hours for a teacher to respond to your email/voicemail. That being said, at my request, our teachers will not be answering emails after 5:00 p.m. or on the weekends. These are boundaries that I am setting for their self-care and time with their individual families.
  • Please only contact school staff via their school assigned email address or phone. Personal email addresses, text messages, and social media messages should not be utilized for school business.
  • Please follow the chain of command when contacting staff. In other words, please contact the teacher before contacting administration, and please contact building administration before contacting the Superintendent.

PICTURE DAY PICTURE DAY

School pictures will be on Thursday August 20th and retakes will be on Thursday, October 8th. Online ordering is available before and after Picture Day. Shipping and handling charges may apply to orders placed after Picture Day.

Order Code is 0525SGF.

SUPPLIES SUPPLIES

Supplies needed will vary depending on your student's individual classes/teachers. As long as your student has a writing utensil and paper on the first day, they will be fine. Teachers will be specific with students on what additional supplies are needed.

DRESS CODE DRESS CODE

The dress code policy can be found on Page 18 of the Student Handbook. Please review the policy with your students. Some of the most frequent violations include inappropriate tops, such as shirts that do not cover the midriff, and t-shirts with inappropriate language/messages. Students in violation of the Board approved dress code will be required to change. Administration reserves the right to determine appropriate attire for the school day.
