New Year, New Dates to Save!
Superior High School 2024/25 Dates
This document is a good resource for trying to plan ahead. We are plugging in dates as we hear of them. This is subject to change, but want to keep you all in the loop.
Winter Wellness Series of Family Events
We know having a high schooler can be a challenge to spend quality time together. We have a few family events coming up to bond and beat the Winter blues.
This event is FREE. If you would like transportation to this event, please fill out this form.
This event is FREE. Dinner will be provided, but we ask that you sign RSVP if you plan to eat here so that we can get a head count.
In the Spirit to Give Back?
Volunteer at SHS!
If you plan to help out at Superior High School, please visit the link below and complete the 2 PART process. If you need assistance with the fee associated with the background check, please email leann.egnash@superior.k12.wi.us and she can help you. We do not want this fee to deter you from making a positive difference at our school. You can specify in your application if you want it to include multiple schools within our district. This check is valid for one year from the date it is complete.
All Night Grad Party Support
Our 2025 All Night Grad Party Committee is already planning a fun and safe evening for our Spartan Graduates on the evening of June 6th. Visit their site for more information and ways to support.
PBIS at SHS
PBIS (positive behavior interventions and supports) is a system that focuses on reinforcing positive behavior by providing clear expectations to students and teaching them what those expectations look like in action. PBIS provides meaningful incentives for students when they are showing expected behavior and provides reteaching to students who may need more support in understanding how to show expected behavior throughout the building.
Our three core beliefs are work, respect, and belong. We have conversations about these values throughout our building. We explain what it looks like to work, respect, and belong as a student in each area of our school and encourage students to show work, respect, and belong by creating incentives. Based off of student data, we are still needed to continue to focus on attendance (kids in seats on time every day). Staff are encouraged to award students with a Spartan ticket, which they can turn in for various incentives. How can you help support our efforts? We are looking for prizes, gift cards, or experiences that will get our students excited. Any donations can be turned into the main office to the attention of Matt Amerson. We have also created this Amazon Wishlist. Another way to support is to shop the Spartan Shack online for gear we can use toward prizes. Our students love Spartan swag!

Conversation Starters
New year is a time to build some new connections and reflect. Here are some conversation starters for you and your Spartan student:
- If you could say "thank you" to one person who helped you in 2024, who would it be?
- Who is someone you would like to spend more time with in 2025?
- Tell me about a time you remember laughing so hard in 2024, who were you with?
- What is something you would like to work on about yourself in the new year?
- If you could redo one moment from 2024, what would it be?
- What is one time in 2024 when you felt pride for yourself?
- Which Spartan staff made an impact on you in 2024?
- Which friends made you feel happy or loved last year?
- What is something new that you learned to do last year?
- What is your top 5 moments of 2024?
Take Time for Self Care
Kindness is contagious!
This break is a great time for your student to get into better sleeping habits. Teens need 8 to 9 hours' sleep a night. Poor sleep in young people is linked with mental health problems, reduced school attendance, and more risk-taking behaviors. Sleep-deprived adolescents are also less likely to retain new information. Here are some tips to get in extra Zs, and start back at school with a fresh brain and healthier habits.
