Principal Update

Dear School Community,

It is hard to believe that summer is already coming to an end and the new school year is just around the corner! School begins next week, and we are excited to welcome our students, families, and staff back to Scappoose High School.

We will kick off the year with Freshman Day on Monday, giving the Class of 2030 an opportunity to become familiar with the building, meet staff, learn the routines, and get comfortable navigating high school. Then, on Tuesday, the rest of the student body will return, and the halls of SHS will officially be full of students once again!

A new school year brings new opportunities, new goals, and a chance for each of us to make this year a great one. Our staff have been working hard to prepare for the arrival of students, and we are looking forward to getting back into the rhythm of teaching, learning, connecting, and building relationships.

Fall sports are also getting underway! Our athletes and coaches have been working hard, and we are excited to see our football, volleyball, soccer, cross country, and other fall programs take the field and compete. I encourage our students, families, and community members to come out and support our athletes. There is nothing quite like the energy and excitement that comes with Scappoose High School athletics!

As we begin the 2026–27 school year, I encourage everyone to approach the year with a positive mindset, high expectations, and a commitment to making SHS a place where every student can learn, grow, and feel connected. Success at school is a team effort, and we are fortunate to have an incredible staff, supportive families, and a community that cares deeply about our students.
