6th Grade - Finding Courage

In the "Finding Courage" unit, students will explore how individuals face their fears and find the courage to overcome them. Through a variety of texts, including The Breadwinner, Maya Angelou’s poem Life Doesn’t Frighten Me, and informational pieces like Fears and Phobias, students will analyze how fear affects people and how they conquer it. They’ll also watch Wired for Fear, a video explaining the science behind fear, and read The Ravine, a short story about friendship and bravery.
