Swartz Drop Off and Pick Up Swartz Drop Off and Pick Up

zoom_out_map

Dear Swartz Parents, During drop off and pick up, please make sure that you are adhering to the school zone 20 mph speed limit and are making a complete stop at the stop signs. I understand that we can be in a rush in the morning, but the safety of our students and community is more important. Also, please do not park on the east side of the building during drop off or pick up. This slows down the line and is an accident waiting to happen. Finally, if the drop off door is closed at 7:40, your child is already late to school, so please don't speed to the bus lane to drop off either. Thanks for your understanding and support, Angie Ross

Meet Mrs. Ross

Hello! My name is Mrs. Angie Ross, your Swartz Elementary School Principal. I have had the

honor of working in the district for 17 years. I have been the principal at Swartz for 11 years; I

was also the principal at Salt Creek Primary for 5 of those years. I have also served as the

district curriculum director for 4 years and the coordinator of programming for the district and

dean at Albright for 2 years. Prior to that, I worked at Jackson Middle School in District 45 for 14

years as a 6 th grade teacher, 7 th grade teacher and assistant principal. Before that I worked as a

5 th and 7 th grade teacher in Oaklawn and a 5 th through 8 th grade teacher in Burr Ridge for a few years.

I grew up on the southside of Chicago. I attended Saint Xavier University for my bachelor’s

degree in mathematics and education. I attended the University of Illinois for master’s in

educational leadership.

I have been married for 36 years to my husband Kevin and we have 2 daughters, Caitlin (26) and

Madelyn (23). Caitlin is a speech pathologist and Madelyn works for city government in

communications. Both of our girls have recently moved to the Nashville, Tennessee area, so it is

our favorite place to visit!

Standard Response Protocol

Salt Creek District 48 has adopted a new emergency protocol response from the I Love U Guys Foundation. This is a program that has been adopted by many of the schools within DuPage County. Over the summer, the administrative team attended training on the protocol and is passing along the training to all staff. We also want to make families aware of the five different protocols so you can be familiar with the language you may hear your child or the school use.
