District Health Update
Head Lice
Each year in the United States, approximately 6-12 million students between the ages of three to 12 years of age contract head lice, and like many school districts, we have occasional students who are affected each year. Please discuss with your child the importance of not sharing personal items. Additionally, we recommend that you check your child’s head weekly as a part of their regular hygiene routine. Additional information, including helpful links, may be found on the SDST Health Services webpage. Please contact your child's school nurse if you have any questions.
