A Message From Your Principal
Dear EWS Families,
What an incredible, energy-filled week we have had at Eames Way School! As we head into the final stretch of the school year, our hallways are absolutely buzzing with excitement, creativity, and a deep focus on finishing the year strong. Students and staff across all grade levels are working incredibly hard to wrap up their academic units and End of Year Assessments, and I am so proud of their continued dedication.
We are making every moment count by blending this hard work with some well-deserved celebrations. Staff and students alike have had a blast participating in our Spirit Days, bringing so much school pride and joy to our building. I was also thrilled to recognize 15 more students with the May Principal's Award for Citizenship, celebrating their wonderful contributions to our school community!
We also want to extend a massive thank you to our amazing PTO for hosting a magical Sweetheart Dance on Wednesday night, as well as for funding a spectacular fourth-grade field trip to the Heritage Museums & Gardens. Meanwhile, our fifth graders put their engineering skills to the test this week by making excellent use of the beautiful spring sunshine to cook with their handmade solar ovens.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping your children participate in all of our end-of-year traditions at home. Have a beautiful weekend!
Warmly,
Ms. Bishop

Bus Registration 2026-2027 is Open!
Bus registration is now open for bus transportation for the 2026-27 school year. Registration should be completed for all students whether they plan on taking the bus or not.
Registration will close on June 15, 2026 and any student not registered by that time is not guaranteed bus transportation for the 2026-27 school year. Bus routes and staffing will be planned based on applications and payments received on or before the deadline. Any applications received after the deadline will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
In accordance with state regulations, the transportation user fee of $180 per student with a $360 family maximum fee only applies to students in grades K-6 who live closer than 2 miles from their school and ALL students in grades 7-12 who choose to ride the bus. Please note, any student in grades K-6 who lives 2 or more miles from their school DOES NOT have to pay a transportation user fee but does have to register for bus transportation.

Nurse Update
Seasonal allergies (hay fever or seasonal allergic rhinitis):
- Occur when outdoor molds release their spores or trees, grasses and weeds release tiny pollen particles into the air
- Usually develop by 10 years of age
- The immune system releases histamine into the bloodstream to defend against these allergens and the release of these chemicals are what causes the symptoms
Treatment of allergies - no real cure for seasonal allergies, but it is possible to relieve symptoms:
Reducing or eliminating exposure to allergens- keep windows closed, use air conditioning if possible and change your air filter often
Remove shoes at the door to avoid tracking allergens to the rest of the house
Wash hands and face after being outside and try to avoid touching your face
Rinse off in the shower or tub before bed
Change pillow cases often during allergy season
If reducing exposure to allergens isn’t possible or is ineffective reach out to your primary care provider about available medication options(non-drowsy antihistamines, nasal sprays and eye drops)
Reminders as the weather changes:
Hydration: Please be sure your child brings a water bottle to school each day-preferably one that is easily refillable at our refill stations.
Snacks: Please remember to send in a healthy snack for your child everyday.
Clothing: Have children dress in layers-the building can become quite warm, and children can overheat very easily.
Sun safety: Sunscreen must be applied at home before coming to school.
Tick safety: There has been an increase in the prevalence of ticks. Parents should frequently check their children for ticks, especially around the ankles, legs, and head region after coming inside from any outdoor activities.
Attention Grade 5 Parent/Guardians:
Postural screenings(“scoliosis screenings”) are now complete. Referral letters have been sent home to those needing follow up evaluations.
Lunch Menu & Nutrition Update
Breakfast and lunch are free options to all students for the 2025-2026 school year. Please note, breakfast is available upon arrival from 8:35-8:50 am, however, students can also get breakfast during the morning once the school day starts if they skipped breakfast or forgot their snack. For more information, please visit MPSD School Nutrition.
My School Bucks is an online account for families to easily manage and pay for school meals, a la carte items (such as ice cream), etc. These accounts stay with students throughout grades K-12 and funds can be replenished when balances get low. Here's the information from the MPSD Nutrition webpage on how to set up your account - My School Bucks.

Volunteering at EWS
CORI applications need to be redone every few years and we are currently in a three-year cycle covering 2023-2026. All volunteers need to complete a CORI, even if you were approved prior to 2023. Please visit the Front Office to complete a CORI application and provide a copy of your license - it will only take a minutes. Applications are then reviewed by MPSD Central Office, which can take up to a week to process. If you have any questions, please contact Val Quigley (781-834-5090 or vquigley@mpsd.org).
However, to clarify, if you have an approved CORI from last year, it is still valid for this school year!
