🐾 Hands-On Learning in the Ag Shop
The Ag Shop is more than just a classroom—it’s a place where students gain real-world experience through hands-on learning and responsibility. In the Ag Shop, our Ag Practicum students are developing valuable skills in animal care, communication, organization, and daily operations while preparing for future careers in the animal science and veterinary fields.
Through the Ag Practicum program, students are responsible for managing a variety of tasks and learning opportunities. Throughout the year, these practicum students help out at veterinary clinics in the area. This opportunity requires them to work at least 300 hours, allowing them to put their knowledge into practice through hands-on animal care.
Additionally, when not in the clinics, these students run the on-campus Doggy Day Care! Doggy Day Care is a completely student-led business that allows students to practice important skills such as:
🐶 Animal handling and care
📋 Reviewing applications and service requests
📧 Communicating with pet owners
🩺 Understanding vaccination and health requirements
🧹 Maintaining a safe and clean environment
⏰ Managing responsibilities alongside their classroom work
We’re excited to see our students continue building confidence, responsibility, and career-ready skills through their experiences in the Ag Shop! 🐶🌱

October is Substance Use Prevention Month
Educate. Communicate. Support.
October is Substance Use Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness about the dangers of substance misuse, promote prevention, support individuals in recovery, and honor those affected by addiction. Prevention begins before substance misuse starts, and each of us has a role in building a healthier, safer, and more supportive community.
At Cy-Fair ISD, we believe in the power of educating, communicating, and supporting one another. Our Substance Use Awareness and Prevention Counselor, Ms. Jones, is available to support students and families. She participates in our Mental Health Alliance initiatives throughout the year and can also be contacted directly at 281-897-4000. You can also reach out to your school counselor, and we will be happy to connect you with her. We have resources available to support you and your family. You are not alone, and our community is here to help.

Attention Spartans! This month, we are recognizing Coach Dylan Neumann as our Coach of Impact. Coach Neumann’s coaching philosophy is that “it all starts with hustle and heart” - Coach Hatten.
What he loves most about coaching is seeing what athletes can have when they work towards their goals.
Coach Neumann would also like to recognize the girls’ water polo team for an incredible accomplishment! The Spartans have qualified for the playoffs four years in a row, showcasing their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence. This year, the team faced Foster High School in the first round of playoffs on October 5. After a hard-fought battle, the Spartans came up short, but their season was still one to be proud of. Congratulations to the team and Coach Neumann on another successful season! We look forward to seeing what the Spartans accomplish next year! 🎊
🤽♀️ Through his leadership, determination, and commitment to pushing his athletes to be their best, Coach Neumann continues to build a positive, competitive environment where student-athletes can grow and succeed! 💪🔥
