I hope you and your children had a wonderful break! 2025 is here and cold weather is as well. It is so important for you and your children to find ways to remain active even during the winter months. Activity is not only good for your physical health, but also for your mental health. Fortunately in Arkansas, our winter’s are usually fairly mild and you can always bundle up and layer clothing and get outside to stay active. If it is too cold for you and your children,there are some great ideas for indoor activities in the link below. Another fun idea is to search for GoNoodle or Kids Bop dance videos on Youtube. Stay warm and keep moving!

Ideas for Indoor Activities

We are so excited for this year's VIP Dance! We will need help with set up, food prep/management and clean up. Slots are for 30 minutes to allow volunteers the ability to join their child for the event. Remember, if you volunteer you do not count against your child's ONE VIP guest!

Did you know we are roughly only 10 weeks from our growing zone's last frost date? Many home gardeners are already starting seeds indoors for early spring vegetables like broccoli and cabbage. Seed starting is a big topic of conversation for our school garden right now. We usually begin starting our seeds indoors around 6 weeks before our last frost date. That would be the week of 2-24-25. That is just around the corner when you consider the planning and supply/seed gathering we will need to do to get ready! We would love to see some new volunteers join us when we get going! If you are interested in gardening, the school garden is a great way to learn the rhythms of gardening. Plus there are often master gardeners available to consult. Happy seed starting!
