"Together, we are ONE TEAM with ONE GOAL=SUCCESS!"
As we continue through an exciting school year, I want to take a moment to recognize our students and families for their commitment to great attendance. Every day in school is an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with others. Your dedication to making education a priority helps set the foundation for student success.
We also want to remind our students to continue demonstrating our school expectations each day. By being respectful, responsible, and safe, we create a positive environment where everyone can learn and thrive. Simple actions such as following directions, using kind words, staying focused in class, and making good choices throughout the school day make a big difference. Together, we can continue making our school a place where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to do their very best. Thank you for your partnership and for reinforcing these important expectations at home.
Let's keep up the great work and finish each day strong!

Teacher of Distinction-Ms. Kiara Gonzalezππ
The votes are in! We congratulate Ms. Gonzalez on being selected Teacher of Distinction by Champions for Learning! We are Panther Proud of Ms. Gonzalez and we are grateful for her dedication to our Village Oaks students!
COUNSELOR'S CORNER
This November, our character trait is courage. Courage means doing what is right or trying something challenging, even when we feel nervous or afraid. Children do not have to feel fearless to be brave, sometimes courage starts with one small step! Each brave choice helps students build character, develop confidence, and become more responsible and caring toward others.
At school, courage can look like:
β’ Trying something new, even when it feels difficult.
β’ Asking for help when something is confusing.
β’ Telling the truth and taking responsibility for a mistake.
β’ Inviting someone to play or standing up for someone kindly.
β’ Telling a trusted adult when something feels unsafe.
These courageous acts can also be done at home.
We will continue building on the social skills students have practiced, such as greeting others and showing kindness, by introducing ways to respect personal space, use manners, and offer sincere apologies. Practicing these skills helps students develop courage as they build connections, take responsibility for their actions, and make respectful choices even when it feels difficult or uncomfortable.
In December, we will build on these lessons as we explore fairness. Students will learn about taking turns, listening to different perspectives, and understanding that fairness means helping everyone get what they need to succeed.
In partnership,
Mrs. Anthony
VOE Guidance Counselor
COACHES' CORNER
We are excited to share that we celebrated our Quarter 1 i-Ready Tailgate Party, with a total of 129 students participating! Congratulations to all our students who met their goals! As we move into Quarter 2, we are officially kicking off Operation i-Ready: Sports Edition! We encourage our students to continue working hard and reaching their reading goals. In the classroom, students are becoming more familiar with their grade-level reading benchmarks. Most grade levels are now beginning Module 4, where students are diving deeper into these skills and building on what they have already learned. Through continued practice and engaging lessons, our students are strengthening their reading skills and growing as confident readers. We look forward to another quarter of learning, growth, and success!

βARRIVAL & DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
Please help us to keep our students safe and our school running smoothly by adhering to following procedures at VOE:
- If your child is tardy, you the parent must accompany him/her inside to the front office. Dropping off of students in front of the school is not allowed.
- To ensure a smooth dismissal and keep all students safe, any changes in your child's transportation must be communicated to the front office by 2:00 PM. This gives us enough time to notify teachers and make necessary arrangements. Please call 377-8600 to make any changes in transportation for your child.
- After 2:30, dismissal will take place through the car line only.
- Pre-K students will only be release to a parent with an ORANGE car sign or walker card.
- Kindergarten and first grade students will only be released to an authorized pick-up, including older siblings, if they present the ORANGE walker card or orange car sign.
π Car Riders:
All parents picking up by car must remain in their vehicles.
Students will be called to the nearest numbered post (1β6) and assisted into the car by a staff member.
Once all students are loaded and it is safe to do so, both lines will be released, and the process will be repeated.
π Car Rider Signs:
Every car must display the official VOE ORANGE car rider sign in the center of the dashboard.
If you do not have a sign, you will be asked to show ID while we verify you are on the approved pick-up list.
This may require parking and waiting or walking to the office to sign your child out.
For safety, parents may not park and walk up to the car line to pick up a student. In such cases, you must go to the office to complete sign-out.
πΆ Walkers:
Parents or authorized pick-ups will receive a VOE ORANGE dismissal card for walker pick-up.
This card must be shown to staff at the walker pick up location in order for your child to be released.
The card is wallet-sized for convenience.
Kindergarten and 1st Grade students may walk with an older sibling who received an orange walker card from the parent.
Without the card, staff must verify authorization, which may delay dismissal.
Students in Pre-K will not be released without an adult present.
β In the event of rain and lightning in the area, we will utilize a single car line to ensure student and staff safety. Walkers will remain in the front office and may be picked up by car. Once the rain stops and there is no lightning in the area, students will be allowed to walk home as usual.
We appreciate your support and understanding. There may be delays during the first few weeks of school. Your patience and cooperation will help us ensure the safety of every student.
Thank you for helping us keep our VOE Panthers safe!
Mrs. Ferro
πΈ Panther Pass Bridge Safety Reminder
The safety of our students is our top priority. Families and students who walk to and from school are asked to use the Panther Pass Bridge when traveling to and from campus. Students should not cross SR 29, as it is a busy roadway and crossing is dangerous.
For your convenience, the Panther Pass Bridge is open on school days from 6:15 AM to 3:20 PM.
We appreciate your partnership in helping us keep all students safe during arrival and dismissal. Please review this expectation with your child and encourage them to use the bridge each day.
Together, we can ensure a safer journey to and from school for all of our Panthers. πΎ
