Students in 3rd-8th grade will be taking the IAR (Illinois Assessment of Readiness) state tests. There are two English language arts tests and three mathematics tests. Students will take one test each day in the morning this week. Attendance and being on time to school is very important. Last year, our school was only 7 points away from being designated EXEMPLARY. While our commendable status is great, our goal is to be the very best! Encourage your child to try his/her best on the test.
Let's talk more about being the very best. Our 7th Grade Minutemaid Volleyball Team is STATE CHAMPIONS! This team has worked hard at a sport they love since 2nd grade, and that dedication has paid off. I couldn't be more proud of this team and the sportsmanship they demonstrated throughout the state tournament. I received many compliments about our team and fans.
We will continue to cheer on the Minutemaids as the 8th Grade Minutemaid Volleyball Team play Monday at the sectional championship game in Liberty. Fan bus permission forms are due Monday morning. Let's cheer this team on to state, too!
