Citizenship

At Piney Woods Elementary we teach our students to have good character. For the past two weeks, we have focused on two powerful words: perseverance and citizenship. We give students examples of these words every morning during announcements with the hope that they recognize and exhibit these qualities. We want to encourage you to use these words when you talk to your children.

When we demonstrate good citizenship we become involved in trying to make the community, our nation, and the world a better place. We encourage all Piney Woods families to become engaged in our community even if it is in small ways in order to help teach our young ones about citizenship. Part of being a good citizen also involves showing respect for our community. Remember, one of our pillars at SISD focuses on helping our students become noble citizens. Ask your child this week how they have shown that they are a Noble Wildcat. As always, remember that at PWE we build strong foundations, which is why we all consider it My PWE. #MyPWE

On Monday, we kicked off Spirit Week by putting the Titans to sleep! Check out our students and their awesome pajamas!

Tuesday we had the Titans seeing double on Twin Day! Check out these twins, twinning is winning!

Wednesday we showed that there is a hero in all of us with Heroes vs Villains day!

On Thursday, we made the Titian's walk the plank in our best pirate getup!

Today we supported our Wildcats by wearing red and homecoming gear! Let's go wildcats!
