Nauset App Help Page
Families should download the Nauset App to receive school updates, alerts, and messages. Please note: some people have mistakenly downloaded the Thrillshare App instead. The Thrillshare App is for staff only and does not allow families to log in. To help, we have created the Nauset App Help Page on the district website under the Students and Families tab. This page includes written guides and short tutorials to walk you through downloading and using the app. Visit the page here: Nauset App Help Page

Updates From The Principal
Hello NRMS Families,
We are excited to share that the 8th grade class trip will be in New York City this year. We need your help. We need a group of parents to assist with organizing fundraising to help us get the cost of the trip per student as low as possible. We would like to plan a Fun Run and other fundraisers. If interested in taking on this role, please contact Principal Cohen and Mr. Peterson. We recognize that there are a number of fundraisers occurring soon. The Model UN club is selling coffee. The PTO will be selling wreaths. We are seeking to raise fund while not placing a financial burden on families. This is a small needle to thread. The cost of the New York trip is approximately $1000 per student. And, we want every student that wants to attend to be able to travel with their class for this wonderful experience. Scholarships will be available. The most effective way to lower the cost of the trip is to have strong fundraising strategies in place. We need your help to organize these fundraisers. Thank you to all who join this effort.
While the volleyball team did not win when we packed the gym on Monday afternoon, congratulations to the volleyball team on earning their first win ever in a match that took place on Tuesday. The pack the gym event was well attended and it is great to see so much school pride and school spirit this year.
We encourage you to sign up for a parent-teacher-student conference for next week. See the information above. This is a great opportunity to partner with your child's teachers, set goals with your child, and establish a plan for your child to meet those academic goals. With the the shift to trimesters this year, students have a longer period of time to get back on track . The first trimester continues until just before Thanksgiving. Therefore, students still have about a month to raise their grades in advance of the first report card of the year. Exploratory courses for the first quarter will end on November 5 with the second quarter exploratory courses starting the next day, Thursday, November 6. You can view your child's grades at any time via the Aspen parent portal.
We kicked off a food drive on Friday and we hope that everyone who is able to contribute canned goods will do so over the next few weeks.
Next week, in addition to conferences, is Halloween. We do allow and will award points for students and staff that dress up in costumes. Please remember, masks that cover a student's face are not permitted and no weapons as costume accessories will be allowed either. We can't wait to see the creative costumes everyone wears next week.
Thanks in advance to the PTO and anyone who contributes to providing dinner for teachers on Wednesday evening, October 29, during parent conferences. We appreciate you!
Enjoy the weekend.
Peter Cohen, Ed.D.
Principal
