Dear NABC Tiger Families,

As we reach the close of the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible journey this first year as your principal has been. It has been an honor to step into this role and become part of a school community that is so deeply committed to the success, growth, and well-being of every student.

This year has been filled with memorable moments—from the excitement of the first day of school to the laughter and learning that echoed through our hallways every day since. Together, we've celebrated academic achievements, built strong character, and grown as a community. I’ve been especially proud of how our students have demonstrate hard-work, citizenship, and kindness throughout the year.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our teachers and staff, whose dedication and hard work inspire me daily. To our families—thank you for welcoming me, showing me grace, and for your passion in what is good for our students. And to our students: thank you for bringing joy, energy, and purpose to everything we do here at NLABC. You are the reason we show up each day, and you continue to make us proud.

As we head into summer, we are hearing good news for our schools. If the school board passes the proposal Tuesday evening, NLABC will have Nurse Natasha back full time, Ms. Nicole our Librarian Assistant back and with a decrease in the pupil/teacher ratio, we should be allocated more teachers. This would be so beneficial to support our program.

I hope each of you finds time to rest, recharge, and enjoy moments with family and friends. We’ll be eagerly preparing for another year of learning, growth, and new opportunities—and I can’t wait to welcome everyone back in the fall.

Thank you again for a wonderful first year. I am filled with gratitude and excitement for all that lies ahead.

Warmly,
Dorissa Martin
Principal, Northern Lights ABC

Kids Heart Challenge 💖

Our NLABC Kids Heart Challenge raised $7,521.17 surpassing our goal of $4,000. The American Heart Association estimates we've saved 148 lives through the community-wide education and dollars raised. Through their involvement in the Kids Heart Challenge, 140 Northern Lights ABC Students and their families learned how to keep their hearts healthy, perform hands-only CPR, and identify the signs of a stroke. Seven classes earned extra PE classes and our top fundraisers got to PIE their PE teachers. Our involvement in the KHC also affords us the opportunity to get much-needed PE equipment each year. Thank you for your generous support. Mrs. Reale and Mr. Theiler
