Principal Brown's Bio
Mrs. Brown was born and raised in Miami until the age of nine. Even as a child, she knew education would be her path to a better future. Her life took a pivotal turn when her parents made the difficult decision to send her to live with relatives in Chicago. That opportunity opened doors and shaped her future.
After graduating from Chicago Public Schools, Mrs. Brown joined the U.S. Army. She served five years while taking college courses toward her degree and later graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
She began her teaching career in Chesterfield County Public Schools in Virginia as a third-grade teacher. As a military spouse, she later taught kindergarten in Killeen ISD. Her family eventually settled in the Plano area, where she spent most of her career teaching fourth grade. While in Plano, Mrs. Brown earned a Master of Arts in Education with a focus on Administration and Supervision. Throughout her time in the classroom, she remained committed to her students and their growth.
As her daughters began their academic journeys, one attended the University of Arkansas and the other Columbia University in New York. These milestones inspired Mrs. Brown to seek greater impact in education. This led her to Dallas ISD, where she felt called to serve students with similar backgrounds and life experiences. Both of her daughters later graduated from Howard University School of Law. Their success reflects the lasting impact of education in Mrs. Brown’s life and family.
She is married and credits her husband’s steady support during her transition to Dallas ISD. His encouragement empowered her to continue making a meaningful difference in the community.
