The Bobcat Bulletin
Welcome Back to School 2025-2026!
November 16, 2025
💜 A Message from Michelle Britton 💚
It is hard to believe November is already flying by. I hope you will take a few moments to read this week’s Bobcat Bulletin. Below are some of the highlights:
Veterans Day: Our fifth graders proudly represented Indian Lane in the Media Veterans Day Parade, and the beautiful star display in our lobby reminds us of the heroes we honor.
Scholastic Book Fair: Thank you to our amazing volunteers and families for helping our students discover new favorite books while supporting Indian Lane. Be sure to check the schedule below in the bulletin to see when your child’s class will visit the book fair.
💜💚American Education Week: We cannot wait to open our doors to families next week for classroom visits, one of our favorite traditions of the year. Please check the schedule below in the bulletin.
Holiday Extravaganza and Bobcat Fundraising: Preparations are underway for PTG's annual celebration. The PTG is $1600 away from the Bobcat Campaign goal.
Kindness at Indian Lane: Our Hall of Kindness is overflowing with student-made posters that celebrate compassion and community.
Winter PTG Spirit Wear: Show your Bobcat pride this winter with cozy Indian Lane Spirit Wear — order by November 20!
As we head toward the Thanksgiving season, I am so grateful for the partnership and enthusiasm of our families.

Thank you, Veterans!
Veterans Day is celebrated each year on November 11th. Here in the Rose Tree Media School District, our fifth grade students from all four elementary schools participated in the Media Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday to show our appreciation for the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. At Indian Lane, we also collected paper stars that students decorated to honor their special Veterans. These are on display in our main lobby. Thank you to all our Veterans!
American Education Week & Parent Visitation
🍎 November 17th–21st 🍎
We are so excited to celebrate American Education Week from November 17th to 21st! As part of the celebration, we will be hosting an Open House, and we warmly invite our parents and guardians to step into our classrooms and experience a short “day in the life” of your student. Because this event takes place during regular instructional time, it will be for adults only. We are unable to accommodate younger children or siblings, as classrooms will be actively engaged in lessons and space is limited. To ensure everyone has a comfortable experience, we kindly ask that each student have no more than two guests. When you arrive, please sign in at the main lobby. You do not need Clearances to attend. We look forward to welcoming you and sharing a glimpse into all the wonderful learning happening in our classrooms!

E-Wallet Funds
Book Fair eWallet makes it easy to pay without sending cash or checks with your child. Simply set up an account online, add funds electronically, and your child can shop. Please note that any money left unspent will remain as a credit for any future Scholastic purchases.
If you have used eWallet in the past & have a remaining credit, you must login to your account and transfer the funds to be used at the November book fair.
Using eWallet helps the book fair run more smoothly. Therefore, it is the preferred payment method. For more information, click the link below.
Important Book Fair Reminders
We are required to charge tax on purchases at the book fair, so please add 6% to prices.
Volunteers are needed! Please sign up to volunteer or email thatton@rtmsd.org.
Clearances Needed: Parent volunteers (helping all kids, checking out, etc.) must have clearances.
Clearances NOT Needed: Parents coming to shop with their child during the scheduled class time.
Younger siblings may accompany parents to shop at the book fair.
Please send in a reusable bag for your child to use for book fair purchases.
Ziploc bags are excellent for sending in money & sending home change. Use a Sharpie to write your child’s name on the Ziploc bag.
The book fair is open during Parent/Teacher Conferences on November 24th & 25th. Stop by to get a head start on holiday shopping that supports Indian Lane.
Please consider adding funds to "Share the Fair." This directly helps to purchase books for our Indian Lane students at the book fair.
Bobcat Brags on the Bus
As part of our ongoing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program, students at Indian Lane have been earning green Bobcat Brags on the bus! We’ve reviewed important expectations with students to ensure a safe, respectful, and responsible environment while riding the bus and our bus drivers have been on the lookout for this positive behavior!
If your child brings home a green Bobcat Brag from the bus, please make sure it is returned to the main office for a special drawing.
We appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations at home. Please remind your child to:
-
Stay seated while the bus is moving
-
Use kind and quiet voices
-
Keep hands and feet to themselves
-
Respect the driver and follow instructions
By working together, we can help ensure a safe and positive bus experience for all students. Thank you for your continued partnership!
STEAM Club
All Indian Lane Students are Invited!
Indian Lane students are invited to join Mrs. Hatton and Mr. Jason at the Middletown Free Library for exciting STEAM stations! Students will explore hands‑on activities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math, sparking creativity and problem‑solving skills. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn, experiment, and have fun together outside of school.
Teacher Luncheon on November 25th
The PTG is organizing a luncheon for teachers to enjoy on their lunch break during conferences on November 25. If you'd like to help additionally with this luncheon or a future teacher luncheon please contact Genna Hart - gennahart13@gmail.com. The link is below to help or to sign up.
Family Progress Report Survey
Dear Families,
Our district is in the process of revamping our K–5 standards-based progress reports to ensure they clearly communicate student learning and reflect best practices in reporting student progress.
Your perspective is important to us. We invite you to take a short, 3 question survey to share your thoughts and experiences with our current progress reports. This survey will close on November 30th. Your feedback will help guide updates that make these reports more meaningful and user-friendly for families and students.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by clicking here.
Holiday Extravaganza
Saturday, December 6, 2025
The Holiday Extravaganza is Saturday, December 6th from 8:00 to 12:00. This festive event features gingerbread house and sugar cookie decorating, kids shopping, local artisans and crafters products, and lots of holiday fun with family and Bobcat friends.
Gingerbread houses and sugar cookies are available for purchase now. Orders and payment are due Monday, November 24th. ORDER HERE!
Don’t forget: Overpayments contributed through ‘Bobcats Lend a Paw’ help make sure all Indian Lane families can take part in the Holiday Extravaganza. All 'Bobcats Lend a Paw' recipients and donors are kept confidential. Contact Mrs. Hilden (jhilden@rtmsd.org) for more information.
Holiday Support and Resources for Families
With the fall and winter holidays upon us, I wanted to take a moment to reach out and let families know that there are some resources available for those who may need a little extra support during this time. We have a few programs that can help in various ways, so please contact me to learn more! You can reach me by email at jhilden@rtmsd.org or by phone at 610-627-7103.
Additional District Resources and Ways to Give Back
There are several wonderful ways through Rose Tree Media to support Indian Lane families this season:
-
Delaware County Food Bank Donations – A wonderful resource that provides a list of local donation sites for non-perishable food items.
-
Circle of Giving – Originally created at the start of the pandemic, this organization continues to support RTMSD families with essentials such as food, paper products, and hygiene items. Donations go directly to Ms. Martinez (School Social Worker) and Ms. Dacanay (Home and School Visitor), who distribute them to families in need.
If you have any questions, please contact:
Ms. Dacanay – bdacanay@rtmsd.org

A Message from Mr. Ralph Harrison
Mr. Harrison has shared an important message highlighting the November Events and Holidays in RTMSD, which celebrate and honor the diverse cultures, traditions, and experiences that make our community so special.
In this month’s message, you can learn more about National Native American Heritage Month, All Saints Day, Veterans Day, and Thanksgiving, as well as how our district continues to honor DIGNITY by recognizing and learning from all members of our community.

RTMSD Mission and Vision Survey
As part of the Rose Tree Media School District’s strategic planning process, we are updating our mission and vision statements to reflect the values and aspirations of our community. Your voice is essential in this work.
We invite staff, parents, and guardians to complete a brief Google Form to share your perspectives on what makes our district unique, what experiences every student should have each day, and what qualities we hope to see in our graduates. Your input will directly inform the development of mission and vision statements that guide our work now and in the future.
Please take a few minutes to complete the Google Form here: RTMSD Mission & Vision
Thank you for partnering with us to shape the future of Rose Tree Media School District.
Bobcat Pride Breakfasts
You're Invited! Pick a month! Sign up!
Every child at Indian Lane is a BOBCAT & we want to celebrate with each of you. Families are invited to sign up to attend ONE Bobcat Pride Breakfast during the 2025-2026 school year. Younger siblings are welcome to attend, but please only sign up for the IL student(s) on the sheet. Each student should take one spot on the sign up sheet. The Breakfast are held from 8:00 - 8:40 a.m. in the Indian Lane cafeteria.
Music Concert Update for December Sing-A-Long
The December Sing-Along is one of the most joyful and heartwarming traditions at Indian Lane. Our students love coming together, and it has always been so special to welcome families to share in the celebration. Over the past few years, families have kindly shared with me that the gym has become more and more crowded, making it difficult to see and enjoy the performance. At the same time, I know how deeply this tradition is loved. With that in mind, Mr. Fisher and I worked together to find a way to keep this wonderful tradition alive while making it even more comfortable for everyone.
This year, we will hold two concerts on the same day instead of one. By expanding to two performances, we can continue the tradition we all treasure, while giving families more space and a better viewing experience. Rather than changing the event, we see this as enhancing it so that everyone feels welcome and included.
Thursday, December 11th:
-
Morning Concert – 9:15 AM
AM Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 4 -
Afternoon Concert – 2:00 PM
PM Kindergarten, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 5
We understand that some families may need to attend both concerts, and we truly appreciate the extra effort this may take. We also plan to still offer a virtual option for those who are not able to attend in person, so that every family has the opportunity to enjoy this tradition.
Please know that this decision was made with great care, based on the thoughtful feedback you have shared. I am so grateful to Mr. Fisher for his willingness to adjust the format, and I am thankful to our families for the love and support you bring to this tradition. We will include a survey after the event to take your feedback on the new format.
