LOTS OF NEW LEARNING

Class 1 - Welcome back everyone. We hope you’ve all had a lovely week. We’re looking forward to seeing you all again and hearing all about your half term break.

Our topic for this half term is “Will You Read Me a Story?” where we will share texts from around the world.

*If you have anything you feel you could share with us to support our learning, please get in touch. We would love to hear from you.

Class 2 - This half term Class 2 will take a trip to back to Ancient Greece and learn all about life for Greeks. From nothingness came chaos; from chaos came air and water; from air and water came life. Then, rising majestically from the darkness, came Gaia, Mother Earth, a beacon of warmth and light. Discover a fantastical world full of mythical creatures and legendary heroes. Poseidon, Apollo, Artemis and Zeus reign almighty from Mount Olympus, watching mere mortals on dusty Athenian streets. Meet Theseus, the hero, and Helen of Troy, the beautiful face that launched a thousand ships. Explore the terrains of Greece, where in pure blue skies, the Sun scorches waxen wings and melts the fortunes of Icarus and Daedalus. Then decide your own fate when a mysterious box is found and stirs your curious mind. Towards the end of the topic children will take part in an ‘Ancient Greek day’ at school and will have the opportunity what an Ancient Greek lives like and also taste some Greek foods!

Class 3 - The children will be learning about different periods of Greek history, exploring the earliest civilisations, the devestatation of the Dark Age and the breakthroughs and developments of the Archaic and Classical periods. Children will understand how the geography of Greece affected the development of city states, and explore Athens learning about the structure of government and society. They will learn about some of the most significant Athenians and understand why Greek art, culture, architecture, philosophy, medicine and mathematics were so significant.

OUR CHRISTIAN VALUE THIS HALF-TERM

WELCOME BACK INTO SCHOOL

We are excited to be able to welcome parents, carers and our wider community back into school over the coming months.

We have lots of plans and will be getting in touch with arrangements.

We are sure you appreciate that we don't want to overload our children with lots of unfamiliar faces so this will be a gradual reintegration to support their well-being.
