This week in choir...

Students are continuing to learn music for Solo & Ensemble (7th/8th graders), caroling (6th graders), Veterans Day (7th/8th graders), and winter concert (all students).

Phew! That's a LOT of music! :)

Solo & Ensemble is Friday and Saturday (Oct. 27 & 28).

Next week in choir...

We will continue work on:
  • Solo & Ensemble results
  • winter concert music (all students)
  • Veteran's Day music (7th and 8th graders)
  • Holiday caroling (6th graders)

Required rehearsal for 7th/8th graders after school on Thursday, Nov. 2. We will be rehearsing with band and orchestra for our combined piece.

Choir Fundraiser - NOW through Nov. 10

We kicked off our choir fundraiser last week. We shared our fun incentives with the students (see below). Our BIGGEST incentive is a trip to Cinemark Theater to watch Trolls 3: Band Together on Thursday, December 21 (last day of the semester).

In order to qualify, students need to:

  • receive at least $200 in donations
  • be academically eligible
  • not receive any referrals from the choir directors and
  • not receive DMC/D-Hall/suspension/etc.

As of right now, we have 24 students who qualify to go to the movies with us! We have SEVERAL students who are very close to meeting the $200 goal.

As we send out this newsletter, our students have raised $10,797!!! Wow!!!!

The next "prize" level is $12,000. Whichever class has the highest average when we reach $12,000 will get to silly string the directors.

Class Rankings

1st place - Varsity Treble ($76.39 average)

2nd place - Non-Varsity Treble ($74.16 average)

3rd place - 6th Grade Girls ($54.76 average)

4th place - 6th Grade Boys (2nd period) ($54.44 average)

5th place - Tenor/Bass ($41.55 average)

6th place - 6th Grade Boys (8th period) ($7.05 average)
