Dear Longfellow Families,

March is a busy and exciting time at Longfellow! As we move closer to spring, our students continue to work hard and show great growth in their learning. Teachers are helping students review key skills and build confidence as we prepare for state testing in April.

We also want to remind families that Spring Break will take place March 23–27. We hope this provides a wonderful opportunity for rest, family time, and a chance to recharge for the final stretch of the school year.

When students return from break, we will quickly transition into our state testing window. You can help your child prepare by encouraging good sleep habits, reading at home, and maintaining regular attendance.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are proud of the hard work our students are doing each day and look forward to a strong finish to the school year!

Please remind your student(s) that all electronic devices must be away during the school day. If cell phones, etc are found to be in use during the school day, they can be confiscated and a parent will need to pick them up in the office. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we implement state and district policy.

The clinic is looking for gently used children's pants and shorts in various sizes for students to wear in the event of an accident during the school day. It is also helpful to pack a change of clothes in your student's book bag just in case as well.

We are continuing to focus on increasing student attendance across the district and specifically at Longfellow. Currently 24% of our students are chronically absent, missing 10% or more of instruction, and we need your help to improve that number! Since Ohio school attendance is calculated in hours, every minute counts.

In the Willoughby-Eastlake City Schools district students who are 5 years old on or before August 24, 2025 are eligible for kindergarten. Online kindergarten registration will begin February 15, 2026.

Popcorn Poppers

We are looking for volunteers to come in and help in the morning or afternoon to pop popcorn and bag it up. We will be doing a total of 7 popcorn days this year all on fridays. All help is welcome!!! Please leave a phone number where I can get a hold of you. I like to send out text msg when your date comes up. Also if you need to cancel or change a date you can text or call Brianna 440-227-5391
