PLE Families!

As we move into February, we want to take a moment to express our appreciation for your continued support and involvement in our school community. The first month of the year has already brought exciting achievements, growth, and learning for our students. We look forward to all that the remainder of the year will bring.

Here are some important updates and highlights for this month:

Mid-Year Check-In and Progress Reports

Students are in the process of completing state PM2 testing, this provides students and teachers an opportunity to see where students are currently performing in relation to PM1 testing, and gives an opportunity to see growth throughout the year. Teachers are finalizing mid-year assessments, and progress reports will be sent home soon. They will be available on January 23rd. This is a great time to review your child’s academic and social progress, and if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or our school counselor. We are committed to working together to ensure each student’s success.

Student Led Conferences

We will be holding student led conferences on January 21st from 5:00-6:30 during Literacy Night. This is an excellent opportunity to discuss your child’s development, strengths, and areas for improvement. We encourage all families to take advantage of this time to meet with teachers and share your insights.

Community Support

We want to take a moment to thank all of the families who continue to support our school through donations, volunteering, and participation in school events. Your involvement truly enhances the experience for all of our students. If you are interested in volunteering or contributing in any way, please contact our PTO or the school office.

A Message of Gratitude

As we move forward into the year, we continue to be grateful for the partnership between home and school. Your commitment to your child’s education plays a crucial role in their success, and together, we can create a positive and nurturing environment that supports their growth.

We are excited about all that we will accomplish in February and beyond. Thank you for your continued support!

The Importance of Reading 20 Minutes a Night

Research consistently shows that reading for just 20 minutes each night can have a significant impact on a child’s academic growth and overall development. This simple habit helps improve vocabulary, comprehension, and critical thinking skills, all of which are essential for success in school and beyond. We encourage all families to make reading a part of their nightly routine. Whether it’s reading together, discussing the story, or asking questions about the text, these moments can spark a lifelong love of reading and set students up for future success.
