Math
Unit 2: Proportional Relationships
In this unit, students will learn about proportional relationships, the places where proportional relationships appear, and the different ways they can be viewed and studied. In doing so, they should understand and use the terms “proportional,” “constant of proportionality,” and “proportional relationship,” and recognize when a relationship is or is not proportional.
This unit provides multiple representations of proportional relationships, including tables, equations, and graphs. These representations and terms are offered as students reason about situations that involve constant speed, unit pricing, and measurement conversions.
English
Module 1: Identity in the Middle Ages (continued)
Students have reviewed figurative language, analyzed the poem "Identity" by Polanco, and are finishing up their study of feudalism. Next, they will connect all the pieces by exploring The Canterbury Tales. Students will analyze the identities of various feudalistic characters and the impact of figurative language in each tale. Additionally, students will review, then identify, narrative writing techniques in each tale.

- Lesson 2: What evidence supports the theory of plate tectonics?
- Lesson 3: How does the movement of tectonic plates form mountains and volcanoes and cause earthquakes?
