Miller Speaks at Kentucky Physicians' Leadership Institute

Dr. Anastasia Miller, Clinical Associate Professor in Organizational Leadership and Learning (Healthcare Leadership) gave a workshop on Healthcare Financial Leadership to the Kentucky Physicians' Leadership Institute on June 19, 2026

Jones Serves as Keynote Speaker

On Monday, July 27, Dr. Carla Brown Jones (BS-OLL, Healthcare Leadership) delivered the keynote speech at Highland Middle School’s professional development retreat, titled Building a Bright Future: One Student at a Time. Dr. Jones approached the keynote as an opportunity for community-engaged scholarship and reciprocal learning—an extension of our academic work beyond the boundaries of the university and into the educational communities that help shape the students we may eventually serve.

A central message within Dr. Jones' keynote to the Highland faculty and staff is that “the future of Louisville is already sitting in [Highland Middle School's] classrooms.” Teachers, counselors, administrators, and staff members are not simply preparing students for the next grade level; they are developing future professionals, leaders, problem-solvers, artists, caregivers, entrepreneurs, and community members. Their influence becomes part of the intellectual, interpersonal, and professional foundation students carry into high school, college, the workforce, and civic life. Dr. Jones, along with all of her BS-OLL colleagues, seek to increase the visibility of the BS-OLL program and the University of Louisville while remaining firmly grounded in service to our community.
