Senior Citizen Prom is this weekend. Thank you to all who signed up to help out.

The PTSC Clothing Drive starts April 29th and ends on May 13th. If you are looking to declutter and clean out your closets, here is where you can donate that extra clothing and other household items. The PTSC uses the donated clothing to raise money to support student activities and provide money for scholarships. Donations should be bagged and dropped off at the middle school pole barn. The pole barn can be accessed via North Island Road. Directional signs will be posted to help find the pole barn. If it is after hours, leave the bagged items in front of the pole barn. Please see the flier below for additional information.

Middle School Schedule for 2024-25 School Year Middle School Schedule for 2024-25 School Year

As you may have heard, the middle school schedule will be changing slightly next year. Currently, students take a full year of math and English and these classes are complemented by a semester math and English class. We will be reorganizing the schedule next year so that students will have a single math and English class that will be the equivalent of one and a half class periods. This will provide students with a longer, daily instruction time in these key subjects with a single teacher, as opposed to the multiple classes and teachers in the current schedule. This change will allow for deeper understanding of the topic and with a consistent instructor. The other classes will remain the same.

There will be a brief presentation on these changes at 6:30 pm on May 14 in room 245. This will be right before the choral concert if you want to stay for that show.

Clinical Corner Clinical Corner

With all different tests around the corner as we near the end of the school year, I thought it would be helpful to talk about tolerating test stress. Let’s get straight to strategies to use. The one I liked the best is writing out what you are anxious about in regards to the test. Such as how you are feeling, why the test matters to you, and what your performance means to you, etc. Then you can throw it away. So get it out, and get it into the garbage and not have it all in your thoughts! This can really help you get calm before any test. If writing is not your thing, voice record and then delete!

Other strategies mentioned in the article “Taming Test Anxiety” are:

  • Deep breathing,

  • Consciously relaxing by relaxing each muscle group

  • Decreasing distractions, especially like knowing where it helps most to sit

  • Engaging in positive self-talk

  • Not fixating on the clock
